Question about tips to workers in the hospitality industry
I'm curious to the facts about tips in your industry. Do you have to share them amongst your coworkers? I hear you have to provide a percentage of your sales. So if you don't get tipped, technically does that mean you pay out of your own pocket?
This knowledge has made me rethink how I tip. Just wondering if there is any fact behind it
Re: Question about tips to workers in the hospitality industry
Stop looking for reasons not to tip

do you tip your crack dealer?
Re: Question about tips to workers in the hospitality industry
When I was younger I worked as a waiter in several different restaurants. We never pooled our tips but at the end of the night we all broke off a piece for the hosts and busboys.
I applied for a job once at a hotel restaurant and their policy was for all the waiters to pool their tips. I had no interest in that so I passed.

I won’t tip electronically. Too easy for the owner to skim.

If you find an asshole everywhere you go and don’t have abysmally low iq… The logical deduction is that you are the one who has a problem, not every single other person walking planet earth.
