He wasn't even that old. RIP
RIP Mr. Blonde

Madsen has a long history with alcohol and substance abuse. He was not someone who prioritized health.
Although 67 really isn't "young" either. That is open age for heart failure.

coolest character in that movie
damn, rip

Damn.... his look-a-like body double Tom Sizemore died in 2023.
Glad they went with Travolta in Pulp Fiction, no way Madsen would've done better in that role.
In any movie I saw him in, he was surprisingly good.
He is a sleeper. But he was a cool cat. rip

RIP. He was good in Donnie Brasco too.
I always confused Michael Madsen with Tom Sizemore and vice versa and when I think of Madsen I would think he was dead only to find out he was alive cause it was Sizemore who was the one that had died. Now they're both dead. RIP to both.

Come on now, Madsen would have crushed that role. QT even wrote the character with Madsen in mind.
I think Travolta was good enough but gun to my head I think Madsen would have been better.
But without Travolta I don't think it gets as much attention.
One of the best character actors

Yea I know... QT was trying to go with Madsen, I just don't see him doing better than Travolta did in that role.
There are some scenes where Madsen would have done better, like when he's talking $hit to Bruce Willis for example... but overall Travolta killed that role.

^ that's more of a Michael Madsen character right there.
Don't know if you know this or not Doomsday but I heard Micky Rourke was also in consideration for Butch. Imagine Micky Rourke and Mike Madsen, man that would have been tremendous. Would have given the movie a much more raw, grittier feel.
No disrespect to Travolta or Willis, they were both great and their big names lent more success to the movie, but those guys are movie stars. They're pretty boys. When you think of characters in a QT story, you think of guys like Rourke and Madsen.

Rourke was a pretty boy when he was young though.
