The monologue was a win. It was definitely something with the crowd. Like they're afraid to laugh at a semi-controversial joke.
For some reason that cut makes it seem awkward.
I just watched the full opening and its much better, flows better.

Gillis is naturally funny for sure but he sometimes commits so hard to being offensive that it takes away from it a little.
Not necessarily the case here but just in general when he gets on larger stages like this. His standard sets when he's not trying too hard to do that are always more natural and better.
Shane Gillis seems like he would be a really fun guy to hang around with. I always feel like he is naturally the funniest dude on those "protect our parks" podcasts.
