Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant just can
Pretty obvious it happened. Corn ball was taking shots at Bean in the media the other day.
Kobe knows the nerves to hit in an argument haha, going for the jugular.
Jarrod Rudolph says it's fake and it's actually something that made the rounds last week and was shot down.
Note: Why would the Lakers trade for Brook Lopez? His contract is uninsured and the Nets sat him down for 3 weeks for basically stepping wrong. The Lakers are going to blow up their season for him? To give D'Antoni a low post slow center? I continue to be at a loss as to why people think it's still possible. (And what is the Nets "enticing" package?)
If LA put Howard on the trading block, few teams will bite. Having him for half a season won't entice many teams, and with more reason since he's been a pain in the ass lately. Lakers are fukced. They will lose him for nothing.

Yeah, trading for Howard would be crazy. Imagine the circus.
fake
He'll just stay. He's not leaving to go to Dallas or Atlanta with lesser teams. The Lakers can retool in 2014 with him, and no Kobe.
People forget too there are no S&T for teams over the cap anymore so unless the Lakers are blowing up their season in the middle there aren't real suitors.

Lopez isn't a low post center.. He's a high post center that roams in the paint when he sees penetration from his guards. That's what all his paint points come from. Passes from dwill and Joe Johnson when hey attract attention and he sneaks into the cracks of the defense.. Or defenders biting on his jump shot pump fake and him driving. He would actually work well on the Lakers. Brook has absolutely zero ego.. He would take everything as it came and would allow Gasol to sink back down into the post. His rim protection has been great this year too.
Him and Marshon Brooks and maybe a tough rebounder like reggie Evans would make the Lakers better than they are with Howard now whose offense is a liability and who barely protects the rim any better than lopez would.
I believe it 100%....
- Kobe's so Alpha.....Dwight tries to be Alpha....and he's Big so he thinks he is.
- 2 Alpha's....

Pretty sure if that 6'11 ear of corn stepped to Kobe's alpha, Bean would've popped him in his adam's apple in front of the whole team.
You're welcome.

Yeah, Dwight is the best player on Lakers he has rights to be the alpha.

D'Antoni wants his players to run up and down the court. Lopez has stress problems in his foot and is the slowest human being in the world. I 100% disagree with your assessment of Lopez being a D'Antoni type of player. Note: D'Antoni wants Gasol gone. He doesn't want him on the team much less in the post. (Note: I LOVE Lopez game this year, but it fits on the Nets well, not on the Lakers at all.)
D'Antoni wants Gasol gone, and in his place wants shooters, players who can space the floor, and get down the court and into the offense quickly. You want to send him Lopez, Evans and Brooks (i love Brooks game but he's not a spot up guy). It doesn't make any sense.

Well actually in Mike Brown's system(if he has one) Brook Lopez is an ideal fit, with Mike D'Antoni he apparently isnt. Too bad Brown is gone already huh.
Yeah, Dwight is the best player on Lakers he has rights to be the alpha.
- Alpha is a mindset....Dwight aint there yet..
- Alpha's need to recognize Alpha when it's in dey face.
- Alpha's stay Alpha and 2 Alpha's on 1 team = problem's
LeaderBe
Yeah, the problem is that Kobe's an aging chucker alpha and has trouble converting to a new Yoda self capable of teaching the corny Padawan. Instead he uses his agressive feelings and lets the hatred flow through him. And vents on Twitter. Soon yo'ull see the #darkside posts coming, then you know what's up!

You got it wrong dude.. Lopez is actually very good at running the court. He has long strides and covers ground quick. He's not slow at all in that regard.. Always hustle up and down well, and better than Gasol and Howard have this year. Where lopez is 'slow' is with his reflexes and quickness out of the triple threat or any stand still position. He doesn't explode at all. Running up and down the court hough? He's got that pretty good.
He's better on offense than Dwight and there would be zero controversy over touches. Would work perfectly off of the others work. And Marshon Brooks would be the best playmakers, ballhandler, and offensive talent on this Laker team other than Nash and kobe. He would make their bench ten times better.
it was really uncomfortable watching kobe trying to win the game last night, but really what other choice did the lakers have? kobe and dwight both need to put their big boy pants on and get their sh!t together asap. kobe needs to be the bigger man and approach dwight because we sure as hell know dwight isn't going to.
Just because this happened a couple weeks ago and it got released today it doesn't mean it can't be true. There's things that happened that never get released, there's things that happened that take years for them to get leaked. It also doesn't mean that it is true either. :confusedshrug: But I'm willing to bet that it is real. Kobe's always had teammates issues, has always been hard to get along with. And Howard is a lil btch himself.
Howard's downfall would have nothing to do with being exposed as a basketball player...it would be this passive-aggressive crap. I'm not saying there will be a downfall, but if there was that would be it. And I'm not talking about this exchange but about this "We have to play together" crap. You're still injured. Get healthy. Be quiet.

One of the most un-manly things to do IMO is be passive-aggressive.
To me that is a dead ringer of an indicator of a female like tendency and personality.
Dirk for Dwight or Deron/Lopez for Dwight/Nash makes sense.

when dwight howard put his arm around SVG after privately asking the GM for stan to be fired... that told me all I needed to know about that guy.
Dwight likes to talk about trust but how can someone trust a duplicitous passive aggressive guy like him is beyond me.
As many problems as Kobe had with Shaq's leadership and work ethic at times, I think he respected him a hell of a lot more than Dwight. Not only do I think it's clear he respected his ability and level of play a lot more than Howard for obvious reasons, but as different as they were, I think their anger was pretty similar. As big as Howard is, I could see Kobe hitting him if he got pissed off enough, just like he did to Samaki Walker. I could never see him doing that with Shaq.

Yeah, that was a terrible moment. I didn't think Stan handled it as well as he could have, though because making it public put the team in a worse situation. I did sympathize with Stan, though because I think he was a fine coach and he had always been good to Howard and built a successful team around Dwight's strengths.

I understand Howard is frustrated since he found out he is not Superman anymore and he may never be the same dominant defensive monster, but venting this frustration to the media isn't going to improve team chemistry.
The Lakers are struggling enough, no need to create more drama.
Howard has no filter when it comes to the media though so we can expect more shit like this.
more proof that Kobe is just a horrible leader.
Dwight's mouth piece says it's BS.
Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News reports sources indicate that Dwight Howard had to be restrained from going after Kobe Bryant following a loss by the Los Angeles Lakers to the Philadelphia 76ers.
Bryant reportedly agreed with criticisms of Howard from Shaquille O'Neal that he is soft.
Sources tell RealGM that the incident categorically did not happen.
Sources also tell ESPN's Ramona Shelburne that there was no such incident.
How would the NYDaily would know about things inside the Lakers' locker room?
Yeah, no. Just go on his tweeter. Kobe's.

I agree. If Howard was smart he's shut up and listen to Kobe and Nash because he can learn a lot about winning and leadership from those 2. But Kobe as the veteran needs to do what Shaq never did with him and that's reach out to Dwight and be the bigger man. But this whole story is BS so people are getting worked up over nothing.

LOL!! The Black Mamba don't play.
I love Net fans trying to pawn off Lopez for Dwight. He's a huge injury risk, there is no way that would happen. Lopez stepped wrong and the Nets sat him down for three weeks. People don't want to talk about it because it's not a happy topic but is anyone here telling me there is not another foot injury in his future? And the Lakers take that huge contract for four years?
more proof that Kobe is just a horrible leader.
This. Kome was ever a leader, just another story of Kome chasing another bigs off the team. Nothing new here....:facepalm

:oldlol: How?
Some people here actually believe the NYDaily?
The Lakers will stay on the path they are when u have Kobe chucking up shots all the time. He is not a great leader at all. You have 2 bigs on the team putting up high percentage shots last night but all u want to do is get your 30pt. He's wants to beat records more then he wants that championship this year. Ppl need to get off his nuts and realize the crap he is doing isn't right for the team.

I don't see anyone gripping about Kevin Durant when he chucks up shots.

I'm not hating, but I thought it was obvious myself. You can almost see the thought bubble in Kobe's mind while playing. It's not subtle.
I don't understand WHY he'd be playing like this if he was actually trying to win a ring. He didn't play like that in 2008, when his ability level was much higher.
Like you said it seems like here on out it's about personal records, getting that 30 ppg, proving he can still play, etc than it is about playing for a ring.
I don't see anyone gripping about Kevin Durant when he chucks up shots.
Sixers don't even complain about Allen Iverson when he chucks up shots. And they still play defense. People say Kobe is the problem He's shooting too much. That's why they're not playing defense. LAKERS SUCK ON DEFENSE. That's the real problem. Defense has been horrible since pre-season. Even when Kobe was only playing 20 minutes in the preseason their defense is horrible. I question some poster's basketball IQ here. Or even watch the games instead of looking at the Final scores and player's stats.
