The Trump Border Wall Saga
Comprehensive thread for all things wall related.
Now that the President has followed through on his threat to declare a National Emergency to build the border wall, it looks like a few Texans aren't thrilled and are expressing their displeasure through legal means.
Texas landowners file first lawsuit to block Trump's national emergency declaration

Three Texas landowners and an environmental group filed the first lawsuit on Friday challenging U.S. President Donald Trump's national emergency declaration aimed at freeing up billions of dollars to build a wall along the U.S. border with Mexico, the consumer advocacy group Public Citizen said.

Interested to see how quickly the House will pass a joint resolution disproving of the NE declaration and which Senators will support it.

Re: The Trump Border Wall Saga
copying my comment from the other thread so maga fam can see it:
the US-Mexico border spans 1,933 miles in length. 700 miles of that length already has fencing. that's 36% of the border covered by fencing, the low iq voter base of trump truly believes 55 more miles will make a difference. a good amount of that border lenght has mountains and terrain that is very difficult to build a fence on, but it's not going stop people from crossing as trump and his fat lazy ass will lead you to believe. he probably runs out of breathe just at the thought of having to traverse such terrain.
do you believe people who have traveled so far to cross into the states will sotp bc of a mountain or uneven terrain? only lazy americans (of which there are a lot of, that's why mexicans get hired bc they outwork american counterparts for half the wage) actually believe this will stop them:

Re: The Trump Border Wall Saga
We really saying the land owner are being fabricated now? you realize people on the border have been fighting eminent domain for decades right? This is just going to bring it front and center and make a great deal of them sue at the same time.
I’ve been reading the stories for weeks. Idiots talk about voting for Trump not realizing that international law doesn’t let you build a wall on the actual border and that it would force them to give up some of the land to be on the wrong side of the wall and just hope for an access portal to be able to get to the rest.
If they didn’t have sense enough to know you can’t build a wall on a riverbank and flood the poor border towns of Mexico they deserve what they get.

The wall is just a distraction that both sides are falling for.
Any country needs control of immigration for social and economic stability.
Immigrants are just brought here to work for peanuts while helping feed the 1% with steak. This is the exact opposite of what every liberal claims to be about.
Instead of obsessing about the wall, they should be proposing serious, effective, realistic alternatives. If Dems put forward an alternstive plan today that would significantly deter illegal immigration, conservative voters would happily support it.
That’s the last thing the wealthy want, and luckily for them they can preoocupy their herd easy as could be just by spamming “ORANGE MAN BAD” rhetoric that sheep will lap up and regurgitate.

Re: The Trump Border Wall Saga
Trump administration will be dug into so much litigation that it will take the courts a long time to dig out of it. By that time, we will be deep into the 2020 primaries that the wall will be all but in the rearview mirror. I've always said that since the emergency declaration idea was brought up in December.
All that hoopla for 55 miles of wall or fence or whatever it is this week :facepalm
Complete waste of time and nothing but a distraction to get us talking about lil Donny. His plan is not talking about illegal immigration but talking about himself. The whole thing is a sham by a con-artist president, who happens to be narcissistic.

Re: The Trump Border Wall Saga
Wait wait..
So the president can declare emergency to get something done and if Congress votes to stop that, the president can veto that Congressional vote.
How is that exactly constitutional? Was it even in the original Constitution? It pretty much gives the president a blank check over Congress. Only the courts can stop it then..
Imagine the sort of precedent it sets if the courts allow it.. Some future president can declare emergency for healthcare spending being out of control and try to pass national healthcare that way. Someone can declare emergency for military industrial complex and try to get funding slashed. What about something for climate change or for college loans or other stuff? We can see some crazy stuff potentially :confusedshrug:

Illegal immigration in-flow has already been at a decline for over a decade.. It's a fact that the Lil Donny administration seems allergic to because it goes against their bogeyman narrative of rapists, gangsters, killers & terrorists coming in from Mexico.

i'm not against border security measures, i'm against this idiot doing whatever it takes to get his symbol and re-election ticket.
the effectiveness of adding 55 more miles to the fence is not even arguable, it's not going to do jack sh1t.
i wish magafam was smart enough to realize that the only ones getting shafted over this fence addition will be americans (some of them losing their land and the rest of us wasting taxpayer money).
mexicans and other illegal immigrants will continue to cross the border illegally through the open 1,200 miles that exists.

Every year I hear stories on the news about groups of illegals dying in the back of trucks as theyre smuggled in through 110 degree weather like cattle.
It also may be so that fewer people simply volunteer such information over the last decade.
Even if it hs declined, it doesnt matter what is happening right at this moment. It’s a big picture issue. For our own safety and economic stability we have to be in control of the country’s border. Anything can happen in the future.
Youre just not intelligent enough to stray from the mainstream narrative. Youre afraid to be called a racist, just like they want. Youre filled with a phony superiority for taking an auto-pilot opposite stance to whatever Trump says, just like they want.
Youre a try hard. A dumb sheep, a beta, and a POSER. Just like they want.

Why specifically are you so against the wall? In the big picture it’s not a big expenditure, and youre a tax-and-spend proponent anyway.
Is there like a serious, logical reason you oppose just putting up a wall on the border, the way many neighborhoods put up gates? Or people put fences around their yards? Or the way you would put an alarm system on your home?
Like do you have intelligent reasons, or are you just emotionaly triggered?

There are better measures than a physical 30ft tall wall, which actually would not be difficult to circumvent.. More importantly, most illegal people enter the US through visa overstays or are smuggled in illegally through legal ports of entry (water port or in a car/truck). Most don't walk across the border.

Thats true, which is why Im personally ambivalent on the wall. If it goes up, so what, if it doesnt, so what.
Why dont you speak up about California offering driver licenses and other benefits to illegals? Or the lack of punishment for people who sneak in again multiple times after deportation? If you simply oppose the wall, then PIPE UP about alternative measures.
But youre scared to do it. And moreover it just doesnt occur to you to suggest anything outside the conditioning youve accepted.Ive never heard you suggest anything in any topic that is not standard left wing dogma. You are dogmatic. You only repeat what your group approves. On EVERY subject.

Re: The Trump Border Wall Saga
I wonder if all the litigation occurred when China built their wall :confusedshrug:
55 miles 1.6 billion or 8 billion it doesn't matter -
The wall has to run the whole length of the border to be effective.
If it is done , then security can cover the other side , and less illegal people would be in our country.
I agree with trump's idea to eradicate people that are illegal in our country , and letting everyone go thru the process of becoming legal citizens.
Our country is swarming with people , where I live I would see 1 car for 20 miles , now we have strings of cars 40 long in 1 mile stretch's.
Soon our county, state and federal lands will have to be made available for the abundance of people living in our country.
