2019 off-season- Bring back the same group for more of the same?
Here we go. Sounds like Favors will be back and possibly Rubio as well and Exum obviously isn't going anywhere anytime soon

Re: 2019 off-season- Bring back the same group for more of the same?
Tobias Harris, meanwhile, is a native of New York and was intrigued by Philadelphia over the course of this season, dating back to his time with the Clippers. Around the league, executives believe several other teams, such as Memphis, Utah, Dallas and Brooklyn, will also provide competition for Harris.

Get the best guys you can that fit. Ricky never fit. Favors hasn't fit since Rudy emerged. Exum sucks. It's not that difficult. Make a list of the guys that make sense around Rudy and Mitchell and go after them.
Like any GM in the NBA (or in any league for that matter), Dennis Lindsey will be tasked with making a long list of some of the most terrible yet all-too-important decisions that will shape the next five-plus years of Utah Jazz basketball.
5 years? 2 at the most. Probably just next year. Will be another year before they get serious about keeping Rudy in town
His first official item of business will come on June 20, the day of the NBA draft where the Jazz will have the 23rd and 53rd overall picks. This will be a walk in the park relative to what comes later in the summer. Sure, there will be some pressure to not draft a non-factor rookie like Grayson Allen tended to be this year outside of a couple of late scoring outbursts. But again, there are worse challenges that await.
Unless they get extremely lucky whoever they draft should have no impact next year on a 50 win team. Should be considered a Star until he proves otherwise

which just tells us Favors has to go. He is Rudy's back up
With that, Utah has officially entered a phase of team building that Jae Crowder acknowledged later in the day is incredibly difficult: Going from good to great, a task he said is much harder than going from bad to good.
It's really hard if you don't even try :rant
Offensively, the Jazz finished the regular season 14th in offensive rating (110.2) and 17th in points per game at 111.7. These mediocre numbers came despite the fact that, according to the subscription-based website Cleaning The Glass, Utah finished fourth in the league in percentage of their shots attempted at the rim and eighth in percentage of their shots as 3-pointers, which are the two most desirable shots.
Other teams will let Ricky, Favors and Exum have those shots all night long. That's over 40 million in those so called desired shots. That is the heart of the problem right there
Free agency begins July 1 and there is already one player interested in joining the Celtics. Former Boston College swingman Jared Dudley, who enjoyed a solid bounce-back year for the Brooklyn Nets as a team leader, agitator, and 3-pointer shooter, is interested in returning to his college city to play for the Celtics, according to a league source. Dudley turns 34 in July and played in 59 games for the Nets, starting 25. He shot 35.1 percent from the 3-point line, his worst clip since his rookie season but still respectable.
For the Jazz, free agency is expected to be a much busier time this year than it was in 2018 when Lindsey brought the whole team back from the 2017-2018 campaign save backup Jonas Jerebko. Lindsey knows the team needs to get better. Utah has momentum in trying to attract a top-tier player and a number of the players currently on the roster will be free agents, which should make for an interesting first few days of July regardless of what ends up happening.
