Why are we celebrating Kawhi
....
It’s worse than 7 out of 9 of LeBrons Finals
Kawhi in 2019: 28ppg 4 assists 43% FG
...
LeBron in 2018 35ppg 10 assists 54% FG
LeBron in 2017: 34ppg 10 assists 54% FG
LeBron in 2016: 30ppg 9 assists 50FG%
LeBron in 2015: 36ppg 9 assists 40%FG
LeBron in 2014: 28ppg 4 assists 58% FG
LeBron in 2013: 25ppg 7 assists 45% FG
LeBron in 2012: 29ppg 7 assists 47% FG
Why is Kawhi getting celebrated? He played worse than all of LeBrons Finals

No idea. Especially when you take into account it was versus a depleted Warriors squad.

Re: Why are we celebrating Kawhi
Meanwhile, Harden averaged 35/7/6 on 44/35/82 against the Warriors...and 4 of those game were with KD, one of their best defenders.

Re: Why are we celebrating Kawhi
Who’s celebrating stats? Only lestans care about stats.
What’s celebrated is that Kawhi won on a new team with a new coach that was less stacked when compared to most of lebron’s finals teams.
Both beat depleted GSW teams
2016
2019
But only one did it while playing his first year for that franchise with a rookie coach. Just means that the east isn’t shit and therefore 8 finals trips in a row in the east could have been done with guys like Kawhi, KD, or AD in lebron’s shoes. Nothing special about it.

Re: Why are we celebrating Kawhi
Obviously if you watched the series you could see he was frustrated in all but 1 game. He still got his points due to free throws and his uselessness opened the door for guys like VanVleet and Siakam to come up. I think one of those two should have won FMVP, but everyone knew Kawhi was going to get it anyway. Kawhi has never been a great penetrator or shot creator. Especially when he was doubled constantly, I was actually surprised he scored as much as he did.

Re: Why are we celebrating Kawhi
c'mon guys let's not be sensitive little girls shall we? what's the deal with the selective focus on assists and points and not rebounds?
we absolutely should celebrate kawhi's win. kawhi is the only player to end two dynastys - he shit in the heat's mouth and also had a chance to dump in golden state's mouth.
how is that not celebration-worthy.

While winning the same amount of games as the Clippers did, despite the Clips facing KD and a hint of Cousins.

Re: Why are we celebrating Kawhi
Why was 28ppg on 43% with 4 assists enough for Kawhi to win in 6 games?
Why did LeBron lose in 4 with 35ppg on 54% with 10 assists?

yes... especially considering kawhi gets his stats without infringing on his teammates, and has a positive spacing multiplier.

Re: Why are we celebrating Kawhi
Another thing that sticks out about Bron is that when he wins, he barely wins. His only decisive ring was 2012. The other 2 went 7 and he needed 2 of the biggest shots in history by teammates to win.
On the flip side, he is the recipient of the 2 worst finals losses in history and he has gotten DESTROYED in 4 finals and should've won in 2011 and 2014.
And got outscored by a 33 year old midget in 2011. And gave up FMVP 4 times to his direct assignment. Come on man, too many holes on his resume.

Re: Why are we celebrating Kawhi
One player joins a team and then wins a championship his first season with his new team (and teammates).
The other one never done it.
Please close this thread. OP is a clown :facepalm

But WHY? You cant answer that
35 ppg on 54% shooting while getting 10 assists got LeBron swept
28 ppg on 43% and 4 assists gets Kawhi a win in 6 games?

King Lowry
Siakaham
DPOY Gasol
Iblocka
Vanvleet (Watched the Delly tapes)
Danny GREEN
The list goes on
Meanwhile Bron gets 8 ppg Love and J.R. Swish :(

Hi 3ball
Too bad ALL of LeBron's 3 rings are better than any of Jordan's 6
Literally
None of Jordan's rings are more impressive than ANY of LeBron's 3
Which is half the game. And on top of that, plays a far inferior brand of ball than Kawhi. You play to win, not put up stats. Bron fans can't grasp this concept. LOL.
They do grasp it. But it pains them seeing Kawhi get universally acclaimed as the greatest player in basketball. So they're doing the best they can (while gritting their teeth and wiping away tears) to tell everyone that defense (half the game) doesnt matter, and that counting stats mean more than winning. Even though Kawhi just showed that he can beat the Curry-Klay-Draymond warriors in less than 7 games without a single other superstar, and without everyone acting as if it's a miracle.

Re: Why are we celebrating Kawhi
cos a Clippers team with 43 year old Vince Carter and Jeremy Lin in the starting lineup can beat the GSW team we just saw in the Finals
no disrespect to Kawhi but Lebron's Cavs team last year would have taken the Finals this year 4-1

We've already seen Lebron against the Curry-Klay-Green Warriors. He needs a 27 ppg second option who hits the title winning shot on an isolation against the reigning MVP in game 7, to win.
Kawhi just beat them more decisively, without anywhere near the players Lebron had.

Re: Why are we celebrating Kawhi
Kawhi had a great playoff run and a very good finals appearance.
However he is still not better than healthy KD and definitely not better than prime Lebron.
