Lebron not even top 10 according to those who watched more ball
Baby boomers have MJ at 1 and Lebron at 12
Gen X has MJ at 1 and Lebron 11
Millenials have MJ at 1, Lebron at 7 and kobe at 5. :lol
Click on the link below and sort by age.
Just goes to show how Baby boomers and Gen X seen enough to rank MJ at GOAT and know that lebron doesn't even belong in the top 10. They do have Lebron over Kobe, while millennials have kobe over lebron and put kobe at 5 and lebron at 7. :oldlol:
This is more accurate than any biased ESPN poll written by some millennial journalist.

imagine thinking kobe at 17 and maravich at 20 is anywhere near accurate :oldlol:. Baby boomer list specifically is just awful

Re: Lebron not even top 10 according to those who watched more ball
LMFAO at referencing ESPN as if they are credible for top 10 lists. At least with this unbiased ranker site you have an idea of the age group that voted and can see just how many voted.

Was Jordan even better than Bird when Bird was in his prime?
I mean just look at the '87-'88 stretch where they matched up 10 times in the season and once in the playoffs. Both were healthy and MVP caliber players so no excuses for either player...
11/14/86
Bird - 37/10/5 (13/25 shooting)
Jordan - 48/5/1 (17/33 shooting)
Celtics win, I'd say it's a wash though.
01/02/87
Bird - 37/8/9 (61.1%)
Jordan - 34/8/3 (41.9%)
Celtics win, Bird easily wins the matchup. Highlights of the game here: . As you can see Jordan made a pitiful attempt at guarding him.
27/01/87
Bird - 24/14/3 (39%)
Jordan - 30/6/4 (38%)
Celtics win. Wash.
28/01/87
Bird - 26/5/9 (65%)
Jordan - 27/4/4 (48%)
Celtics win. Bird wins matchup.
27/03/87
Bird - 41/7/7 (58.6%)
Jordan - 22/7/7 (39.1%)
Celtics win. Bird easily wins matchup. Highlights:
17/04/87
Bird - 38/8/7 (59%)
Jordan - 17/4/8 (33%)
Celtics win. Bird easily wins matchup. Highlights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEaNw...e=channel_page
12/01/88
Bird - 38/9/8 (58%)
Jordan - 42/4/6 (53%)
Celtics win. Bird wins matchup.
18/03/88
Bird - 19/10/6
Jordan - 50/9/5
Bulls win. Jordan finally wins head to head.
20/03/88
Bird - 33/7/8 (67%)
Jordan - 26/4/7 (56%)
Celtics win. Bird easily wins matchup. Highlights:
21/04/88
Bird - 44/10/3 (65.5%)
Jordan - 39/3/8 (51.5%)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdMjK-60H-k
Celtics win. Bird wins matchup *yawn*
Bird's record in this stretch? 9-1 while outperforming him in nearly every game. What makes this worse? Bird made Jordan look like a child when Jordan tried to guard him. Meanwhile the possessions I saw Bird guard Jordan, he defended him quite well (definitly wasn't gambling for steals to leave him open in the post).
Moreover, Jordan is 0-6 in the playoffs including this disaster in '87: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RVMJSCTj5Y (Jordan makes 0 shots in the 4th quarter...Bulls had a 7 point lead with 11 minutes left...but Bird showed up when it mattered while Jordan was no where to be seen)
Kind of makes Jordan's '88 MVP come off as even more of a joke, no? Not that I really care but all you really hear about is the 63 points.

Is OP kidding?
ESPN, sports illustrated, Fox, ISh, Realgm have all done lists.
Lebron by consensus is 3rd (2-5 in those lists). Jordan and Kareem round up the other 2 spots in the GOAT list.
Kobe is 12th or 13th in almost EVERY list. And he's dropping by the day.

Keep in mind that Lebron owns every tiebreaker against Shaq, Magic, and Duncan.
More regular season mvps. And more dominant statistically.

Dude. He's a Kobe fanboy who never watched basketball before Shaq's lakers. He's shook because his idol Kobe is ranked about 12th all time. Why bother?
It's his way of coping. Talking about athletes all of whom are multiple tiers better than his hero.

saying lebron is 5-6 spots below mj is a big jump from just saying mj is better than lebron. you do realize the difference and why the first one is going get responses even though most agree with the second statement.
ik my hoops too(for this forum at least). Lebron's got like the 3rd best peak of all time, closest perimeter player to mj clearly imo. Not too strong of a case but there is someone else in shaq who does have a good case. strong longevity gives him a strong case for top 3 all time.

idk how one could criticize 12 and 13 too much. Go ahead and mention ray allen's shot and prove how lazy you are. 09 is one of the few candidates for the best raw carryjob during the rs ever. lebron's defense has prevented his cle rs' from being great but playoff lebron is absolutely a thing. Getting smashed by gs doesnt change that(even in 17 including the gs series, cle played like a truly great team according to srs which accounts for sos so weak east isnt a counter argument)
longevity and consistency matter too. lebron's had wat a 15 year prime. MJ is the best player of all time but I would seriously consider kareem for greatest of all time because his longevity dwarfs any of the other all time greats and he has like a top 5 ish peak. Playoff performance is pretty great, not too much to nitpick at.

I agree. Jordan, Shaq, Wilt, and Lebron had insane peaks. Shaq didnt maintain it. Wilt didnt win as much and didnt perform at the same level when the stakes were highest (playoffs and finals I.e. Kobe-esque when it counted) and Lebron separates himself by playing at his level for longer than most.
If we are to rank players by tiers rather individual spots, Jordan, Kareem, and Lebron would be in the 1st. Magic, Shaq, Wilt, Bird would probably be in the 2nd. Hakeem, Duncan, Russell would be in the third, and so on.
But there isnt a player who has ever played that is THAT far ahead of Lebron. He's the best player in the past 20 years by a considerable distance, and the only one even close is Shaq. And Shaq didn't have the longevity that Lebron does.

We've seen multiple duos greater than shaq and Kobe. Jordan and pippen. Magic and Kareem. Here is a third. Kobe was just not quite good enough to make that duo as great as some of these.
Nice try, imagine believing MJ-Pippen was a better duo than 2000-2004 Shaq and Kobe. :oldlol:
