Imagine Harden playing in the 90s hahahahahahaah
Someone post that gif
so, Jordan's defense results in him having better offensive position?
morey sure knows how to hype his guys haha.
I get his point but this is just combining scoring+passing into one category so he's not really right calling harden a better scorer. Better offensive player would be better but ofc this is still blasphemous. Also I bet steph curry's teams are more efficient than harden when he's on the court
water is wet
no one calls Derozan the best scorer in todays league
Harden took 2 more FTs after Morey released this statement
Harden's amazing but the offense they had him run last year was preposterous. I feel like Houston has breached some unspoken agreement/gentlemens' rule once made for the sake and purity of the game.
Harden is much better. His eurostep is beyond anything MJ could dream of doing

I hate when people think data 'factually' proves something. Data is just another piece of the puzzle.
Nobody really thinks, not even Jamie himself, that Harden is a better scorer than MJ.

LOL what happens to that scoring when April and May come around? :oldlol:
Harden has a unique skillset, manufactured perfectly for todays no perimeter D.
I like James, even if he
How many rings does Harden have again?
Imagine the fear inside of a defender's heart, standing at the top of the key, as Harden hypnotically dribbles the ball between his legs...

...and then BOOM.
He's past you in the blink of an eye, at the rim, making you look stupid. That's just tough.
Oh, he must have plenty of hardware :lol
Better than deAndre Jordan, yes why not?
Harden ain't even the best in this era. Steph, KD and Lebron are all better in the Playoffs. Harden's numbers drop significantly in the Playoffs despite the added minutes.
Career
24.3 ppg on 60.9%TS Regular Season (34.3 MPG)
22.9 ppg on 57.9%TS Playoffs (35.2 MPG)
MJ averages 33.4 ppg on 56.8%TS for his Playoffs career..
MJ had comparable efficiency numbers in an era where players/teams were much less efficient due to physical defense and slower pace. Put Jordan in the era of no handchecking on a D'Antoni team and he would be breaking all sorts of scoring records.
He means according to the stats of how many points scored per possession. Which is true, if that's your criteria of "better scorer".
Running right at you, stop on a dime behind-the-back, step-back from 30 feet...

Damn, more than 10PPG difference in the POs. What a stupid idiot Morey is
Morey forgot to add "in the regular season".
In the playoffs MJ averaged 33 ppg, Harden 23.
Kawhit m8 hate's Harden so much but it eats away at him to not post in a Harden thread. He has to do it when he sees it.
How many rings does Harden have again?
:facepalm Zero!!!?? What a dumbass question.
Morey might be the most overrated person in the NBA. For someone that’s never even gotten to a Finals, I’m not sure why so many people take his wisdom that seriously.
Jordan is not perfect, anybody can be better than him in anything... if you want to breakdown the stats one by one.
Let Harden be the better scorer, but Jordan is a much better basketball player and achieved way more.
That's enough.

Incorrect.
No one can be better than Jordan.

Doesn't matter since the stats were obtained in totally different circumstances.
Doesn't matter since the stats were obtained in totally different circumstances.
Oh, you mean it's easier to score when defense isn't allowed?
Revelation!
And he still isn't a better scorer even without defense.

Well ya, at certain parts of the game. Mark Price is better than MJ at free throws.
People who missed watching MJ live can't have a better lifetime experience of being an NBA fan as opposed to someone who did watch MJ live.
Watching 3/9 just isn't the same. It's mediocre by comparison. :applause:
Oh **** me sideways, Morey.
Harden is an AMAZING scorer, possibly one of the best we've ever seen in the NBA (whether you like the way he plays or not...it's effective, that cannot be denied). But better than Jordan?? Scoring wise, from a perimeter perspective (so not including ATG scorers like KAJ, Malone, and Shaq) the best of the best are Jordan and Kobe. everyone else comes after.
Harden last year in the regular season is the only year he has that can match prime MJ.
Harden last year in the regular season is the only year he has that can match prime MJ.
Defense isn't allowed and he was still worse.
Get a grip.

Harden made like 85% of his shots off ISOs...can't defend that in any era especially he Harden is shooting long range threes like he did last year.
You are just a ***** afraid of the world.
You should look at his record. He inherited a team with Yao and Tmac as the best players and lost both to career ending injuries. He has turned over the roster several times but has never had a losing record, in the west.
This comment was ill advised at best but he has a very strong record as a GM.
Well, in that case, no one is a better scorer than anyone since everyone has different circumstances.
Spamming 3s in the regular season doesn't make you a better scorer than Jordan. :lol
Harden in the playoffs as the man:
39%
38%
44%
41%
41%
41%
41%
b-b-but he shoots so many 3s, ofc his shooting percentages are gonna be lower!!... except he's also terrible from 3 in the playoffs.
34%
30%
38%
31%
28%
30%
35%
Harden is a regular season player. Calling him a better scorer than the greatest playoff scorer of all-time is amusing to say the least.

Now show all the 3 point clankers he had to take to make this one ill advised shot. I'll take MJ abusing Harden on defense in the post, off the dribble, from mid-range, and occasionally from 3 point range rather than Harden making a wild 30 point three pointer once in awhile or executing the only predictable go to move he has, the driving floater. Jordan was elite at scoring more than a dozen different ways. Harden has 2 or 3 at most, if not counting flopping.
