Often controversial fat **** Jason Whitlock in trouble for comments you agree with.
On Sunday, Whitlock, who writes for OutKick.com, published a column about Maria Taylor. Whitlock cautioned Taylor to avoid making the career mistake of turning off sports fans by embracing victimhood. Taylor’s response to a radio host who talked about her outfit on Twitter and another radio host who questioned her All-NBA voting privilegesprompted the column. In the column about Taylor, Whitlock brought up Nolan. Whitlock took a shot at Nolan and said she benefits from her “beauty.”
“Beauty, most especially in television, has a privilege that trumps virtually all other privileges. Beauty intoxicates TV executives, bloggers and journalists, and it masks a lack of accomplishment, qualifications and skill. Beauty transformed Katie Nolan from bartender to seven-figure personality, Emmy Award-winner and the darling of aroused bloggers and TV critics willing to ignore her pedestrian humor and inability to execute live television,” Whitlock wrote about Nolan. Re: Often controversial fat **** Jason Whitlock in trouble for comments you agree wit
By the way this is the original issue that sparked comments about Maria Taylor that got Whitlock and Nolan beefing....
This is her official all nba list she submitted as a voter:
1st team: James Harden, LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nikola Jokic
2nd Team: Luka Doncic, Damian Lillard, Jayson Tatum, Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid
3rd Team: Chris Paul, Jimmy Butler, Khris Middleton, Pascal Siakam and Bam Adebayo
She forgot Anthony Davis.
She admitted it was just a mistake and she knows he should be in there but....whatever. That’s the background.

Re: Often controversial fat **** Jason Whitlock in trouble for comments you agree wit
The question I have is what makes Whitlock more qualified? He was never a player or coach on a level anyone would care about. If you're a fan that watches games on TV a lot you most likely know something about the sport but thre isn't any special insight there. The talking heads are there to entertain and say opinions that get people riled up, which Whitlock himself has to know as he's basically there to be an object of hatred.

 It's pretty funny that these are the people who vote for all the awards we argue about like All-NBA, MVP, FMVP, etc. Someone on ISH would get reamed for leaving AD out. Yet this person actually gets to vote, and somehow forgot to include AD. How do you just casually forget about the player who is arguably having the best playoffs of anyone? Lack of knowledge. This dude is probably gonna get fired for what he said about her really... is he wrong?

Re: Often controversial fat **** Jason Whitlock in trouble for comments you agree wit
Anyways... he’s right... beauty is a huge privilege. Who cares though? I’m happy to let hot chicks be hot and hot dudes be hot.
Know what else is a huge privilege? Intelligence.
Know what else is a huge privilege? Athleticism.
And down the line it goes.
We don’t earn any of these things. They simply are what they are. You can work to improve them and make the most of the hand you were dealt but your ceiling is your ceiling and there’s no changing that. Privilege exists because humans are unequal. That is the very nature of all forms of life period.
You can either spend your life pissed about other people’s blessings or you can shut the **** up, realize that life isn’t fair, and make the most out of the hand you were dealt by busting your ass.
-
Re: Often controversial fat **** Jason Whitlock in trouble for comments you agree wit
Also to forget AD means that not only does she not watch the NBA, she was too lazy to pull up a stats site to see the league leaders in various stats. But... I don’t care. Awards are arbitrary garbage and they always have been and always will be. Championships are team based arbitrary metrics to judge individuals also.
You can only truly judge players based on the era in which they played and even then you have to use your gut and somewhat guess because factually correct objective truth when ranking players is simply... unknowable.
The discussions themselves are fun but ultimately fruitless.

Eloquently destroyed her.
Shogon, the difference is that intelligence is earned/just privilege.
Beauty isn't.
Lmao. Just "forgot" about AD.

Re: Often controversial fat **** Jason Whitlock in trouble for comments you agree wit
AW, people can have surgery and wear makeup and get in shape to improve their beauty. It is not really any different than intelligence.
The natural ceiling is in place for both no matter what.
Your cap is set from birth.. the only thing that can happen to you post birth are negative things that lower the ceiling. Nothing raises the ceiling post birth... it can only be lowered.
No matter how you were raised and no matter how your brain stimulated, nothing was going to result in you being Einstein or Tesla, to draw an extreme.
-
Re: Often controversial fat **** Jason Whitlock in trouble for comments you agree wit
And to be clear, I am not saying that environment and upbringing don’t impact your potential with intelligence.
They absolutely do.
If you are raised in less ideal conditions, your IQ will be lower compared to what it would otherwise be. And if you were in an ideal situation your IQ will improve compared to what it will otherwise be.
But the natural ceiling exists regardless. As I said.. even the most ideal upbringing and ideal stimulation was not going to turn you into Einstein. There is a natural cap no matter what. We don’t get to pick it. And beauty is very similar.

Re: Often controversial fat **** Jason Whitlock in trouble for comments you agree wit
She likely shouldn't have a vote so early in her career. She played college basketball I think? Even so every show has multiple ex pros on and they work in the media. Does Jalen Rose have a vote? I honestly don't know but I don't think he does. I've never liked him but something to note.
Looking at her list reminds me that I was forgetting Middleton..and I think so did the official list. Shame.
If Giannis wins a couple titles soon will we get to do the "How many All-NBA teammates did he have?" game?

Re: Often controversial fat **** Jason Whitlock in trouble for comments you agree wit
Dear Kobe: Hey, buddy. How ya doing? My name is Jason Whitlock. I'm a 37-year-old sports fan and sports writer. We've never formally met; and, to be quite honest, I've never really liked you. I'm a Shaq guy. The Big Diesel just always seemed more real than you. I didn't like the way you treated Shaq. Yes, he could be a bit lazy, and he should've reported to camp in better shape. But Shaq is a good guy; and had you shown him the proper respect, he would've given you the respect you wanted. It hasn't been the easiest of times for Kobe Bryant. Hey, let me get to the reason I'm writing. I'm not writing to bash you. I'm writing because my opinion of you ... hold on, I'm writing because my dislike toward you has softened considerably over the past couple of months. I feel sorry for you. It seems as if the whole world has turned against you. No one in the league likes you. You've pushed your family away. Even mild-mannered Phil Jackson has taken shots at you. You need a friend, Kobe. You need a mentor. You need an older black male in your life to provide you with some guidance. I'm the spokesperson for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City. BBBS matches Little Brothers with Big Brothers. I figured I could be your Big Brother, a mentor willing to share some hard truths with you. I know that Dr. Jerry Buss has been giving you some advice. But Dr. Buss is a little ... eccentric. He isn't what you need at this time. You need some counseling from an older male who has street smarts, a head for The Game. You remind me of Stringer Bell. Do you watch "The Wire," Kobe? It's a great show on HBO. Pat Riley loves it. Stringer was the big star on "The Wire." He was a Baltimore drug dealer who was trying to get out of The Game, but greed, ambition and a lack of common sense cost him his life. Stringer did all sorts of dumb crap and crossed all the wrong people. He put himself on an island because he thought he was smarter than The Game. More on Kobe Page 2's Skip Bayless says Kobe Bryant's more talented than MJ - but not nearly as smart.Kobe, you don't want to end up like Stringer Bell. He got his cap peeled by a gay stickup man and a bean-pie salesman. Had Stringer sought the advice of an older man, he could've walked away from The Game and become a real-estate tycoon. Obviously, Kobe, you're in a different Game than Stringer Bell. But the Game you're in has stakes that are just as high, maybe even higher. You're in a Game called marriage, and you're playing it all wrong. Actually, you're just getting played. Vanessa, your young wife, has you strung all the way out. That $4 million adultery ring you bought her a year ago was a gigantic mistake. And allowing her to pick a fight for you with Karl Malone is a colossal error. Your wife has the upper hand. You know this. You got busted trickin' off. You made matters considerably worse by admitting to your wife that you tricked off. Look, I don't care what you told the police. I don't care what you told your lawyers or the prosecutors in Colorado. You should've never confessed to your wife. When it comes to extracurriculars in a marriage, it is far better to live a lie than suffer the consequences of the truth. Ask Bill Clinton, the author of "Trickin' Ain't Easy." Vanessa is going to be pushing your buttons for the rest of your married life. She's not letting it go. She can't. Karl Malone did not try to get with your wife. Your wife baited Karl into some harmless flirtation. "Whatcha huntin' Cowboy?" What was Karl supposed to say? He thinks he's jabbering with a friend so he cracks a joke. Vanessa blew this thing out of proportion because she's still angry with you. A $4-million ring doesn't take the pain or embarrassment away. The only things that will ease that pain and embarrassment are a divorce and half of your money. Kobe's the puppet right now -- and Vanessa's pulling the strings. Kobe, your wife won't stop making a fool out of you until she believes you look as foolish as she did holding your hand at the press conference when you first answered charges that you raped a hotel desk clerk. She's gonna have you chasing mystery enemies for the rest of your life. She'll send herself flowers and tell you they're from Shaq. You'll catch her with a bag of weed and she'll say The Zen Master had it shipped to her from Mexico. Don't be surprised if she starts cooing about the size of Gary Payton's glove or how cute Ray Allen is. She's probably writing letters to Suge Knight in jail. She isn't going to let you sleep at night, because she isn't sleeping herself. You're out on the road, getting checked in by a different hotel clerk every night. It doesn't matter how many times you talk to her on your cell phone. It doesn't matter how many text messages you send. You got busted, and you compounded the error by confessing. She's bitter and vindictive.
Re: Often controversial fat **** Jason Whitlock in trouble for comments you agree wit
Part 2
Kobe, you need to learn to keep your mouth shut. You talk too much. Damn, dude, when the police asked you what happened between you and a 19-year-old, you ran off at the mouth and dragged Shaq's reputation through the mud. You're making a fool out of yourself, Kobe. Tell Jim Gray: no more interviews. Quit talking to reporters. Stay off of ESPN. Kornheiser and Wilbon are great guys, but five good minutes for them are just five more bad minutes for you. And, my God, what were you thinking when you let Stephen A., John Saunders and Greg Anthony grill you on "NBA Shootaround?" I know your buddy at the L.A. Times, T.J. Simers, is one guy you feel is on your side. But he's playing you, too. Every time you open your mouth to T.J. and confirm a juicy story, you're just putting money in T.J.'s pocket and making yourself look like a buster. Kobe, there's a big difference between a man who runs his house and a man who runs around the house. How do you play basketball when you spend all day and all night running around the house to put out the fires that Vanessa starts? You owe The Mailman an apology. If your wife didn't leave the mailbox wide open, The Mailman would've never bothered her. Your friend, Jason
Fatlock needs to stay in his lane and continue playing a game that's safe, which is being the obsequious "black friend" to white America.
Bootlicks like Fatlock ALWAYS get too comfortable and mistake patronizing for actual love or respect, they end up castigating a group that's not sanctioned by their paymasters and get their heads lopped off.

The average ISH poster couldn’t draw up a play and not be laughed at by professionals. She played 4 years of SEC ball. She would probably make most of us look stupid talking the ins and outs. Most of ISH can’t identify an offensive concept being run. Bunch of “Lebron ball....Curry ball” know nothings trolling.
She would likely stand out as unusually informed if she tried. Shed recognize a flex offense immediately and most of ISH would have to Google it. Hard to replace actually playing and getting high level coaching even if it is women’s ball. They are less athletic but you still have to know what’s going on around you.
She would talk circles around these ring counting clowns even if she doesn’t do it on tv where it would be boring.
