do the vaccines protect against the delta variant as far as deaths and hospitalizations, or not?

Remember who was the first person to say that they're going to use the "new variants" to extend the lockdowns and to still enforce restrictions

Anyways I don't wear a mask anymore anyway nobody is really enforcing it apart from a few weirdos who still believe this is the plague

Funny cuz our govts here just said if we are fully vaccinated, masks aren't needed and we can throw indoor parties with other fully vaccinated people.

Testing has also rapidly gone up
Besides cases don't mean shit it's all about hospitalisations and now everyone is vaccinated hardly anyone should be getting severely sick
I don't watch the news so I am actually not sure what the current deaths per day are from Covid
-
Re: WHO urges fully vaccinated people to continue to wear masks as delta Covid spread
Yep masks and lockdowns back in effect.
So much for the “vaccine”.. the one that doesn’t stop you contracting or passing the virus on, by its own definition is not even a vaccine:roll:
But yeah, line up sheep. They can’t guarantee that it works or if you can catch the virus again or not, but definitely no side effects! They thoroughly tested it for a whole 12 weeks!:roll:

Re: WHO urges fully vaccinated people to continue to wear masks as delta Covid spread
Never heard anyone say that there's a 100% chance you won't catch covid again, rather you are very less likely to get severe symptoms. It's possible you still spread it but in general the vaccines make it way harder for this thing to spread and do harm.
You're making fools out of yourselves.
-
Re: WHO urges fully vaccinated people to continue to wear masks as delta Covid spread
Trolls like the poster above are more likely to contract them though. ;)

If they don't get tested, how will vaccinated people know whether or not they're spreading covid?

Re: WHO urges fully vaccinated people to continue to wear masks as delta Covid spread
Isn't this already a known thing? Even with vaccine you have a chance to get and spread covid (much less chance but still).
What vaccines do very well are preventing severe symptoms and deaths.
-
Re: WHO urges fully vaccinated people to continue to wear masks as delta Covid spread
another thing that prevents severe symptoms and deaths is being under age 70 and not being morbidly obese or dying from cancer already. or being tested for covid and dying in a car accident a week later
The chance of severe symptoms and deaths is much lower with vaccine compared to no vaccine for almost all circumstances.

Re: WHO urges fully vaccinated people to continue to wear masks as delta Covid spread
so instead of a 0.001 chance of dying i would have a 0.0001 chance?
cause taking untested unverified rushed out vaccines one after another after another for every single god damn variant seems like a bit more of an unnecessary risk tbh
cause sure its probly 1 in 50,000 of dying from a vaccine. but take 5 then its 1 in 10,000 lol... and those kinds of unnecessary odds are not worth accepting voluntarily
i mean... the odds of me dying from covid are only if i GET covid ( which i have and beat it quite easily ) ... and now i probly have some immunities built up anyway...
when comparing covid risks to vaccines they should be counting everyone in comparison to covid deaths. not just people infected. because everyone will take the vaccine if they had their way. while only 1 in like every 50 people will catch covid eventually
Eventually everyone will come in contact with Covid. Without vaccine, it's much easier to get infected.
Vaccine also protects against future variants more than natural infection. Like the current vaccine is still effective against the new variant. Not to mention preventing hospitalization and severe symptoms.

Sure thing buddy, have you been tested a lot since taking vaccine injections?
It's cool that the idea of asymptomatic super spreaders is used when arguing for mask wearing:
The prominence of asymptomatic superspreaders in transmission mean universal face masking should be part of COVID-19 de-escalation strategies
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7263215/
But it's not cool to suggest that people who have gotten the vaccine can spread the virus without showing symptoms, even though it's clear now that the vaccine doesn't actually prevent you from getting covid, just makes it a lot more likely you won't show symptoms.

Your carelessness will be what causes a Delta Plus Plus Plus Plus variant that the vaccine won't protect against.
Walking around, letting covid sit in your body, passing it on to other vaccinated people and them doing the same. All without ever breaking infection chains, "because you were protected".
:oldlol:
I'd be happy to agree that asymptomatic spread isn't a thing, but it seems only the case if you're vaccinated - remarkable..
Yes, this is a very important point that vaccine developers keep in mind. And as you know, we have some vaccines, like measles, which you don't need to change at all. You make the vaccine, it works pretty much all the time. But you also have vaccines like against the influenza virus, where you have to change the structure of the vaccine every year, based on the circulating strains and WHO coordinates this global network that actually identifies which strain should be used every year.
Now for SARS-CoV-2 we're still learning, we're still observing and our knowledge is evolving. But at this point in time, most scientists believe that the vaccines that are currently in development and a couple that have been approved should provide protection against this variant and other variants because these vaccines elicit a fairly broad immune response, a host of antibodies and cell-mediated immune responses.
And so a couple of changes or mutations in the virus should not make these vaccines ineffective. But right now there are studies going on in labs around the world to actually confirm that. And in the small possibility that perhaps these are less effective against one or both of these variants, nowadays the way vaccines are developed, it will be possible actually to also change the composition of the antigens and the vaccines quite quickly. Any links or studies done that prove it? I saw multiple peer reviewed studies that shows natural immunity is just as strong if not better than 2 doses of vaccine.

I think his argument can go both ways. Will there be side effects from the vaccine years from now? Nobody knows for certain.
Will there will long term health issues from covid? Some people have permenant lung damage but again.. nobody knows for sure.
