he's hoping he can deceive his voter base for as long as possible by claiming it's all biden's fault. eventually that will run out of steam and he'll have to face the music, which he's hoping the economy will be in recovery/an upswing by then. bold move.
There's going to be a little pain involved but America cannot keep shipping more and more jobs to Mexico and watch the deficit widen more and more. Just like the border situation, it's gotten too f"cked up so gtfotw let someone who has the balls attempt to fix it. There's no way it's going to be done cleanly but it has to be done. It's a game of chicken. US vs Mexico. See who blinks first. Mexico is looking at full blown depression if we have a trade war.

A little pain? Nope. More like a lot of pain. I think its funny that Americans think the costs of goods will only go up temporarily. It won't. It'll be up forever.
Ever think about why these goods were imported in the first place? It's because they can be produced at a lower cost elsewhere. How is the cost lower? Because the salaries in other countries are a lot lower. Unless Americans are willing to work under minimum wage, the costs of literally everything will go up permanently.

It's not only Mexico, numbnuts. He's also going at Canada, China, Spain and other European countries. Dude is hellbent on causing Americans economic strife. I said this even before his presidency began, he'll end his presidency on record breaking disapproval ratings and the Democrats, in spite of themselves, will come back and control all levers of power and do away with all of Trump's initiatives...all except that tax cut for the wealthy, of course.

Anyone that has a growing big trade deficit with the US needs to have a good explanation of why we shouldn't add tariffs or what they are going to do to help us shrink it. We do not need to be the world's doormat. To continue to let big trade deficits grow is unsustainable and all you people crying about it are not offering any solutions other than to let it get worse. You same people also said nothing could be done about the border, and just a month into Trump's presidency you were proven dead wrong

if you understood the economic benefits of being at a trade deficit and the particular benefit of being the world's high end arm dealer, you would not be asking for an explanation. we are the global high end supplier of many things. let china and other copuntries continue being the walmart for the world. its why walmart employees are paid min wage as chinese people earn 3rd world wages.

Trade deficits with Canada and Mexico are the natural effect of the US being a much larger market than those two countries put together. Simply put, there are many more potential buyers in the US than there are in CAN and MEX together. The obvious solution is either raise wages across the board (never gonna happen with a GOP congress) so Americans can buy US made products OR reduce wages (good luck with that) so that domestic products cost about the same as imports.
Trump's stupid tariffs war could easily lead to an out of control world wide recession but then again, no one outside of MAGA dullards bought into this fake narrative that Trump is a business genius.
Massive recession coming. Economists repeatedly warned of the tariff would do this, but it was more important to protect girls sports from the 3 trans dudes playing in it.
You need to reset the economy after biden printed trillions
Something has got to give.

Lol what? :facepalm
Trump printed more for one, but the "reset" and "give" was the FED raising interest rates just high enough to bring inflation back to normal without causing recession. AKA the "soft landing"
We nailed the soft landing for THIS! What a joke
Unfortunately the next Dem POTUS to recover us again is 4 years away.
We are f@#ked
Tariffs and mass lay-offs.
GREAT IDEA!!!!!!
If you're trying to kill the economy.

Let nvidia fall a little more $$$. Prol worth buying now tbh, but I was hoping 100.
A few year investment, though.

big green is a great buy even right now. you know they will bounce back. market just reacted negatively to their earnings report for different reasons (some data centers have scaled back on their new architecture hanswell, trump's tariffs on semiconductors). their earnings slightly exceeded their projected earnings though, but people thought it wasn't good enough LOL, which is crazy because they're at 60% profit on their chips...quite literally printing money. they don't have real competition, AMD's top cards are not in the same galaxy as Nvidia's best...been like that for a good plus 10+ years now. there was a point where ATI (before being bought by AMD) where they were at the heels of Nvidia but that was the closest and it was a good 15 years ago or so.

Only broke poor people would say something like this. "Let's make everyone as poor and broke as me!!"
Didn't Trump promise he'd lower prices for everyone starting on day one? I mean that was something he kept promising on the campaign trail, but he's doing everything possible to do the contrary, rampant inflation, mass layoffs and a recession...he couldn't have possibly lied? He isn't isn't known as a liar...make it make sense, MAGA :ohwell:
People gon' get so pissed :lol
Donald Trump is gonna do everything in his power to f*ck us all right in the ass... with no lube.
Things are about to get really ugly, really fast. High unemployment coming. Recession is a given.
On top of it all, Trump is being forced by Elon to promote crypto, which in turn is weakening the US Dollar.
The raging in here is hilarious.

No u idiot. Thats not what i meant. The economy needs to reset because the stocks were inflated with money printing
I'm more impressed of the mental gymnastics Americans and even people outside of USA are doing that praise Trump after all these insane decisions.
It's barely been a month into his presidency. I can't imagine what the next 4 years will look like.

You think Trump designed his tariffs to purposely crash the economy? :oldlol:
No, he thought they would flood the country with even more cash.
So I guess we are playing a game of "how low can you go?"
Picking up some CNQ. Those 5.6% divs are too enticing.

This could very well be the beginning of the end.
Trump is gonna send the country straight to Hell.
and his presidency will probably end with a nuke.

Almost all economists agree that tariff free trade is what's healthiest for our businesses. Trump is killing open market trade, and also forcing businesses to mark up prices to make up for the tariff.
The market is reacting.
