How many of you retards believe OKC is a better basketball team than the Nuggets?

Its a toss up at this point. When it goes 7 games both teams are equals. Its heads or tails on who wins game 7. I think Nuggets win based on experience. OKC is a team of great players but they're also inexperienced. Nuggets have beaten them before but also its tough to win game 7 on the road.

Yeah im not saying Denver is gonna win.

Theyve put themselves in a tough situation.

But theyre clearly the better team and this series should be long over right now. The way they pissed away games 4 and 5 consecutively is all time level bad. Embarrassing stuff for a championship team that should thrive in those situations.

i remember someone posting a thread about overly favorable calls towards OKC. The outcry was well above the normal. This nba game is decided by the officiating OR how well a team can judge what a foul will be on any given night. Denver could have been up 4 to 2 if a game was called differently. That's the nature of a flawed ruleset and/or human error.

How? Even if we're ignoring the regular season, in this series OKC is outscoring Denver by 5 ppg, has a significantly higher ORTG, eFG%, and is turning the ball over way less. Denver has the slight edge on the glass and despite the ref complaining, is getting to the line more.

It's pretty evenly matched..and most of the metrics point to OKC. Obviously they are way deeper too.

This is the same guy that said Denver was a bunch of chokers, now a few days later they are somehow better than a team that won 68 games.

This isn't remotely true, there are several examples of a series going 7 games and one team being clearly better than the other; '08 Celtics/Hawks, '09 Lakers/Rockets, 2014 Spurs/Mavs etc.

Yea I think in that '08 Celtics/Hawks series in particular the Hawks eek'd out their home wins and the Celtics dominated theirs. I remember going into that game 7 thinking we had absolutely no chance..and we didn't. Celtics won by 34.

EDIT: They won their home games by an average of 25ppg, Hawks won theirs by 5. Definitely not equals.

It's funny you mention PJ Tucker. In his peak 2017-2020, he was better than Gordon in the playoffs. Much, much better defender.

OKC has better players. They just might not have better starters.

But there's no doubt their bench will win them this series.

AG is also the best defender on Denver and can dribble, dunk, and playmake. Tucker is a one trick pony corner 3 shooter and goon thats it.

How can you really tell who's the better team? Some of the outcomes have been so random. At the very least it looks like both teams are capable of beating each other.

I guess we're about to find out who the real MVP is.

The gap between them isnt big enough to win 5 straight games, or even definitively win a game 7 on the road when the other team is playing with house money after humongous chokes.

OKC are absolutely better in terms of talent. They're just not as experienced and don't execute as well.

Murray is great, but he is nowhere near one of the best second options of all time. Gordon has improved his shooting tremendously this year, and I agree that he’s one of the best 3 and D forwards in the league. Braun has improved a lot and would be great if he were still a sixth man. He’s an excellent defender, and great when they are running, but a liability in a half court set. MPJ is probably the worst max contract in the league.

As for the Bench, Russ is Russ — great or brain dead and with a terrible jump shot. Watson is an excellent defender, his 3 point shot is now OK, and he is terrible otherwise and fouls too much. Strawther is still totally raw but, as we saw last night, has flashes of excellence.

That said, they would all be much worse without Jokic. That’s basically proven by a couple of things — 1) they go from being the best offense in the league with him on the court, to being close to the worse without him; and 2) the players who have come to Denver (Gordon and Russ)perform much better than expected, while players who leave the Nuggets (Brown, Green and KCP) perform worse than expected. Joker actually makes his teammates better, on the same level as Bird, Magic, Stockton, and very few others.

Gordon does more but makes more mistakes on both ends. Tucker was pretty much a flawless 3 and D demon with an unlimited gas tank and shot the ball like Korver in the playoffs. Road, home didn't matter. Hit the offensive and defensive glass very hard. Extremely good at boxing out any size player.

Great hands on defense. Tucker was dominant at times. Gordon is flashier because of more skill, but like I said, he does dumb shit. Even at the rim he can take bad shots. His defense is tiers lower. For as physical as Tuck was his fouls per game were crazy low too. Probably the most disciplined role guy I've ever watched. Absolutely never, ever playing outside his role and gave 110% every second of every game.

OKC is absolutely better, doesn't mean they can't lose.

While there's instances where it's untrue, you can bet it's true in this case. They've both been top 3 in the western conference for a couple years now. Denver beats them, but OKC is higher seeded. You say it's not remotely true but if these 2 teams were considered equals, then it would be "remotely" true.
