Kirk Heinrich.
Chris Paul wins
AI's defense is a big factor :O
Neither can guard the other so its hard to say. But..........AI would win IMO :pimp:
paul plays better d and is stronger
Iverson duh!

Iggy Striped him once and Paul missed a wide open dunk.
Because Anthony Parker is the epitome of a good defender.
Allen Iverson
Itd be a tight and hard fought game, but AI is just amazing with his moves
im not trashing Paul AT ALL, hes amazing, but i think AI jsut has that edge, with experiance and all

At least he doesn't have to carry the ball to shake someone.

You missed the point. Posting vids of single moves is stupid evidence for why one would beat the other one on one. They both have crossed and shaked people hundreds of times.
All that video posting you just did was just a waste of bandwidth.

AI has crossed legends. Paul is an excellent player, but he does not have AI's offensive skill set one on one.
CP3 is still too green to challenge AI
Whatever. AI might beat CP one on one, but it wont be because he crossed over Michael Jordan in 1997 (or whenever).

No one said that lol...He will beat CP3 one on one because he has an absolute monsterous offensive skill set that is perfect for one one.
Iverson.
So does Chris Paul. Which is why no one guards him one on one.
So does Chris Paul. Which is why no one guards him one on one.
Deron does.

the funny thing is that you're the only one sticking up for CP3 :lol
the funny thing is that you're the only one sticking up for CP3 :lol
The fact is no one doubts CP3's talent. If this were some weird passing contest, CP3 would be favorite no doubt, but this is one on one something AI has been excelling at since he picked up a bball.
Deron does.
Not really. The Jazz as a team does a good job of keeping Paul out of the lane and when he kicks out, half the time his teammates don't hit their shots. Paul blows by Deron often but when he does, there are other Jazz teammates there waiting for him.
Matter of factly, there's another discussion going on about this right now on another forum. This is quoted from one of the posters there and I pretty much agree.
Also, Paul's poor offensive showings recently against the Jazz have far more to do with the team's defense and simply having bad nights than with Deron's man defense. Because Paul consistently has excellent games against better defenders than Deron on far better defensive teams.

Billups is an infinitely better defender than Deron. This is blindingly obvious from watching the two play. That Chris Paul fares better against Billups than against Deron, and that Deron has similar defensive stats to Billups, only shows that Paul's poor performance has a lot more to do with how the Jazz play him.
I am CP3. :pimp:

I've never seen anyone guard Chris Paul one on one and not destroyed, and i'm sure that has been the case since middle school, as it is for 99% of better than average NBA players.
paul
Chris Paul
It's hard for me to say this sense Chris Paul is my favorite player however I feel Iverson wouldn't have too hard of a time taking him in a game of 1 on 1.
Chris Paul; better shot selection.
Okay, so I assume they're playing winner by two. Here's a quick question, which one of these guys is more likely to stop the other?

Chris won't be able to stop AI, but AI has flat out stripped people in the past and even if can make a couple of stops he wins. Besides AI>Paul in terms of athlethicism and that may be all that matters.
Iverson
this shouldn't even be a thread!
Allen Iverson, anyone who says otherwise is a moron. AI dropped buckets on much bigger, stronger and better defensive players before. Since when was CP3 a good on ball defender? He plays the passing lines like AI does.
I'm going with the older, more experienced guy every time. Paul might possibly be in awe of A.I (he wouldn't admit it, but a part of him might be). Iverson ain't afraid of noone.
AI....he's a completer scorer....
I've never seen anyone guard Chris Paul one on one and not destroyed, and i'm sure that has been the case since middle school, as it is for 99% of better than average NBA players.
Well you didnt watch Deron guard him in Utah this year...Cut off penetration left and right...It was a classic performance and Im sad I couldnt have taped it...
Billups is an infinitely better defender than Deron
I disagree with this too...Deron is becoming one of the most underrated defenders in the league. When he goes into lock down mode there really many better pg defenders. The one guy that comes to mind is Baron Davis though.
AI is a scoring machine.
I have to say Iverson. 1 on 1 is what he really excels at. He is among the elite when it comes to scoring against a defender, and among the top 5 in that regard in the L now.
AI
