Re: 2011 MLS thread
They have more points than the best team in the East while playing only 7 games. That is how good they are.
All small-market teams should follow RSL's approach to the league.
Damn, gotta catch one of their games, especially now that our league is almost over. Is MLS played on weekends too?

Re: 2011 MLS thread
FCD is surprisingly unbeaten in 5 games after losing David Ferreira.

most of the games are weekend games actually

stop your crying.
George John was obviously getting dragged down in the box.

Re: 2011 MLS thread
getting tired of every FCD game I go to having crap weather...

Re: 2011 MLS thread
why you hate?
aside from him very likely taking bribes for Qatar that is.

Re: 2011 MLS thread
Fcuker will sell his own mother..
The WC in Qatar is a horrible idea.. I like the idea at the WC being hosted at different nations but Qatar is an awful choice. First of all the country has less than a million inhabitants, second the country has no football tradition(do they even like the sport there?), third attendance would be awful as nobody would travel to Qatar..
Russia was a good choice, Brazil was good but ****ing Qatar? Better choices would've been Canada, Australia, Holland, etc.
Anyways back to MLS talk. The red bulls have been playing awful as of late, 4 draws and 1 loss in their last 5.. Also players like De Rosario, Agudelo, Richards, Condoul, Ream, Marquez will all be gone due to international duty. Luke Rodgers has been a beast this year, an absolute gem.. Henry has been playing great when healthy as of late but his injuries are getting to him.
Oh damn, Phillie Union just DESTROYED TFC, 6-2 the final.
:facepalm :facepalm :facepalm

dude wtf is happening with TFC?? I kinda knew they were pretty ****ing bad but in this league they shouldn't be this terrible..
Is frei having a bad season? I hear that he's a pretty good goalie and has potential for the euro leagues

Not to mention it must be one million degrees hot in summer there, exactly when the world cup takes place. They couldn't have chosen a worse place imo.

Knowing those wealthy arabs they'll make a 90k seater stadium with some sort of cooling system that will turn the stadium into a nice cool stadium.
The worst part is after the WC these enormous stadiums will have no use..

Re: 2011 MLS thread
Basically, TFC's defense is now only Frei. Nana is holding out due to contract issues. Cann is out for the season. Fullbacks are non-existence. :facepalm
Frei has been incredible for TFC, and I and true TFC fans will miss him a lot if he is exported, which seems to happen in a year or two.
I'm guessing Borman is playing terrible for TFC? How is Tchani playing for you guys?
Also that winger Stefanovic is a real nice player or by what i've seen.

Re: 2011 MLS thread
NYRB hang on and win 2-1, probably thanks to refs with a dubious offside call on Revs side that would tie the game.
He was offsides(lekic). Not to mention NYRB had around 4 chances to score at the end but couldn't finish. Henry had a perfect game but should have burried his 2nd goal instead of passing it to the amateur Ballouchy(so terrible)

Re: 2011 MLS thread
Sideshow Mehdi's miss was :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
But I've seen much worse misses in MLS than that. Shits happen. But if you win, who cares?
But the dude is just awful.. Last week he lost us the win during the 92nd minute he just gave away the ball and Cbus scored on a quick counter. He has no talent and he blows..
I'd rather let a young player like Rooney play in front of him and I know Rooney is much better than Ballouchy..
-
Re: 2011 MLS thread
So, how's Little Rooney playing so far? Is he good?
He hasn't got any PT unfortunately but he's been playing good in reserve games and in preseason scoring goals(That's what I hear) I think he's pretty good but Backe tends to play the veterans over the young guys.
Anyways the Crew have been getting some awful attendances this year. They barely get 8k people and it looked like 4k judging by the highlights I saw against RSL. Pathetic.
Also NYRB are rumored to sign a German player from the German league who's in his peak.. I'm kinda interested to see who it is and the person is going to be a non-DP. Is it Torsten Frings?

Frings is waaay past his prime, and he was never that good to begin with. He had an outstading shot from distance, was a good header and decent defender, but that was about it.

this seems typical of Hunt Sports owned teams.
Lamar Hunt (and Bob Kraft) was great for saving the league but his kids seem to know f-ck all about marketing.
Dallas is in the same situation though they finally hired some new people who are starting to make a difference.
What drives me crazy is the piddling amount Clark Hunt will spend on marketing Columbus and FCD while simultaneously trying to buy West Ham United and Crystal Palace.
