Re: ITT: We post examples of great footwork in gif form
The only travel in this thread is that LeBron post up from the 1st game of the season v.s. the Celtics.
I actually love threads like these because this stuff interests me more than player a > player b ... bunch of random, useless stats, without context, etc. PER, win shares ... People can be fooled into certain people here actually know what they are talking about IE Indian Guy, etc.
In THESE threads, you really get to understand people who know the game, and play the game.
:facepalm
There are plenty of travels in this thread aside from the obvious Lebron travels.

Takes 2.5 steps before establishing his pivot

Takes 3 steps (he lifts his pivot if you look carefully)

Takes 2 steps then establishes pivot

I think his left is the pivot
His pivot foot is the left foot but after he spins he lifts up his left foot while his right foot is still on the ground.
Left pivot foot, jumps off his right foot.

So all those are travels as well then. Do you have the paragraph of the NBA rule book that says a player must jump off with both feet after establishing his pivot foot? The only thing I could find was:
Art. 4. After coming to a stop and establishing the pivot foot:
a. The pivot foot may be lifted, but not returned to the playing court,
before the ball is released on a pass or try for goal;
Forward and reverse. :oldlol:
Re: ITT: We post examples of great footwork in gif form
I think his left is the pivot
Nope his right foot is his pivot.
His right foot is planted when he picks up the ball then takes a step towards the baseline with his left foot making his right foot his pivot.

Where do you see a step with his left foot towards the baseline?

This one is not a travel but good use of triple threat.

Uh, no, its his left.
Open up your eyes you blind skunk.
:wtf:

It's hard to see cause the defender is covering it but he takes a big step towards the baseline.
Re: ITT: We post examples of great footwork in gif form
You're allowed to lift your pivot foot. You just can't put it back down before getting rid of the ball. Very few traveling violations in this thread.
Re: ITT: We post examples of great footwork in gif form
Maybe you don't know your left from your right but he plants his left foot as he's picking up his dribble.

Then make a step with his right towards the baseline.

Then reverse spin on his left pivot and plant his right.

Thank you Phong. As I said, not a travel.

Its travels too but like i said its not blatant ones. I dont think there is a paragraph that explains this particular case word for word but if you lift your pivot foot and keep the other foot on the ground then its the same as switching pivot foot

Where in the rule book does it say that? Lifting your pivot foot meaning on your tippie toes or off the ground? If the former, you're incorrect.
