Re: All Star Klay Thompson with 19 points 3rd quarter and 32 so far
That's because he's rarely in position to catch and shoot. Not like anyone on his team can get him 88% assisted threes the way Curry can.
Hardens always done that.. Even on stacked OKC. He's a ball handler.. That's his comfort zone. Klay is an off ball shooter who shoots or uses a fake with one of two efficient dribbles max. They're just totally different styles.. Harden will never be like klay in that regard just like you'll never see klay using 10+ dribbles on a possession to score.
Re: Klay Thompson sets NBA record with 37 Points in a Quarter
I don't think that record ever gets beat. 37 in a quarter? Ridiculous.
Is it wrong to describe Klay as a slightly better Reggie Miller? Probably a slightly better shooter, better ball handler, and has a better drive on him.
Re: Klay Thompson sets NBA record with 37 Points in a Quarter
I understand people are just trying to undermine Klay in order to raise Curry's MVP chances.... but.... you cant do this for long guys...
Re: Klay Thompson sets NBA record with 37 Points in a Quarter
And his rookie season, 93% of his three's were assisted on, 5% more than this season.
You're not making a point.
Dude can dominate games while other players are dominating the ball. Best player in the league. 37 points in a quarter and he didn't have to dribble around like a maniac to do it. Greatness.

Not wrong at all and this is coming from super biased Reggie fan. Tonight i fell in love with Klay much more.
The pure shooting scoring SG era just might not be dead yet.

Re: Klay Thompson sets NBA record with 37 Points in a Quarter
So one player is a ball hog and one passes the ball and moves without the ball to free himself for open shots.
And this is the "factual proof" that Klay sucks and Harden is GOAT?
Holy fuhck
I THOUGHT I HAD READ IT ALL

He's like a young taller ray Allen.
Re: LMAO Klay Thompson 37 points in the 3rd Q, 50 points total.....Harden who?

damn :applause:
Re: Klay Thompson sets NBA record with 37 Points in a Quarter
Spot up shooter? Did any of you watch the game?
Most his jumpers were coming off screens or off the dribble. Unbelievable display of shooting.
Re: Klay Thompson sets NBA record with 37 Points in a Quarter
houseton fans mad salty,
I still think Harden is better but Klay was insane tonight

I was asking for proof. Harden was the best playmaker on all his teams thus he has the ball to playmake and more ability to take dribble threes It's the same with Curry. Curry isnt nearly as assisted on his threes as Klay is. Harden and Curry might be better at pull up threes than spot up threes but I dont think the numbers indicate that. If they do, show me. :confusedshrug:
Harden isnt as good a shooter as Klay who is making the case for GOAT, but I would wager he could hit 40% if his threes were assisted as much as Klay. I cant say the same vice versa.

Ever? Bruh. Klay and Curry are still alive.
Re: Klay Thompson sets NBA record with 37 Points in a Quarter
I see Thompson as the Pippen to Curry's Jordan.
Pippen was an elite player. Averaged 21, 7, 6 and shot 47/35/70 in the last 5 years he played with MJ in Chicago.
After MJ retired, Pippen went on to average 12, 6, and 4 on 44/32/75, not including his last season in which he only played 18 mpg (see, I'm even giving him the benefit of excluding his worst season).
Similar to those two, I think Thompson is a perfect fit next to Curry. He plays great defense, and because of Curry (like Jordan), the defense is not entirely focused on Thompson. As I said before, 90% of his three point shots are off catch and shoots. 90%. That means, he catches the ball, and shoots it.
If for whatever reason Curry and Thompson go separate ways, Curry will continue to put up the numbers that he has the last few seasons, while Thompson will go back to being an above average player.
Thompson is dependent on Curry for his success.
I honestly believe you could replace Thompson with Korver, and there wouldn't be much drop off. The defense isn't the same, but the skill set is similar.

I'm not salty at all, I just think its stupid to start making a Harden vs Klay debate when Klay's historic night had nothing to do with Harden. I know both guys are the top 2 SGs, but debating over who's better is really ruining the moment.
