Would be interesting to compile a list of un-intentional Walks with the Bases Loaded.
Yeah, why don't you get started? It prob happens a few times a week in baseball. Why don't you start with the list of 10,000 times someone walked in a run :lol
Better to compile a list when it happened intentionally. Pretty sure it was once with Bonds, Showalter ordered it with a 2 run lead and won the game when the next guy lined out.
This. I miss the Sox/Yankees rivalry of the mid 2000s. When they actually disliked each other. Now everyone wants to be friends.
Saturday and Sunday were wild. I watched them both. Eovaldi on Saturday was cruising to what looked like an easy win. Then German and the Yankees lost Sunday in the same way even more spectacularly.
The only teams the Dodgers will play for the rest of July are the Rockies, Dbacks and Giants.
It's more likely the Dodgers take the division lead by August 1 than fall behind the Padres.
Dodgers have pitching problems. Doc can't keep pulling Urias after 80 pitches. They don't have Kershaw and Bauer in that rotation to eat innings anymore. Price, Gonsolin and TBA are lucky to pitch into the 5th. This bullpen will be shot way before the postseason.

Starling Marte is headed to the A’s, Jesus Luzardo is going to Marlins, sources tell ESPN. A 1-for-1 deal in which Miami will cover the entirety of Marte’s remaining contract — more than $4 million. Marte is a free agent this winter. Luzardo isn’t one until after the 2027 season.

Austin Riley has been out of this world for the last week. Still feels like Braves gotta be leaving NY disappointed with the results. Mets SP was TBA for half the series. Last night they had Edlose on the ropes but Conforto bailed him out.
Re: Official MLB 2021 season thread...
Cabrera has 4 sacrifice flies in the past 9 days. Last time a player had more is more than 3 years ago, and one of those is influenced by Coors Field: https://stathead.com/tiny/oPjKs
Not sure if anyone's hit more than 5 in 9 days: https://stathead.com/tiny/RhNRY
Re: Official MLB 2021 season thread...
The White Sox made a couple of moves to shore up their bullpen, Ryan Tepera who was solid with the Cubs and more importantly, Craig Kimbrel who is one of the best closers in MLB history. Kimbrel and Hendriks in the late innings is filthy. Also acquired 2B Cesar Hernandez from the Indians (they'll always be the Indians to me) who is a gold glover and has some pop, 18 HRs. Sox have been struggling to put up some runs recently but we get our slugger Eloy Jimenez back in the lineup starting tomorrow and big bats Luis Robert and Yasmani Grandal should be joining the team within the next couple of weeks. One of the best starting rotations in baseball, coupled with an elite bullpen should make the White Sox a formidable World Series candidate...

Joey Bats has another epic bat flip years after THAT one.

Mets free falling. Back to reality. Even though it's a trash division, I have 0 faith they will win it. Thought they were a good team but with key pieces that are batting at or lower than .200, just waiting for them to give up the lead... to the stinkin phillies ugh. DeGrom c'mon bro you're the best pitcher but maybe cut down on throwing 100 mphs if it means you're gonna be injured for showcasing it.

Braves coming for that ass. We've been pretty decimated with injuries as well but I think the resolve is there. Freeman has proved he can carry and Riley looks like a true star.
Our FA power surge was pretty important. Don't need .240 hitters with no pop 6-8 in our lineup.
It's been a weird and extremely unlucky year. Not just with the injuries but with the general chance factors that come in to play in baseball. I heard a stat the other day on a Podcast that we are literally dead last in baseball in BA and OPS in "late and close situations". Which is innings 7-9 within 3 runs, I believe. Dansby Swanson in particular has like a .290 OPS in such situations..with like 30 or so at bats; dead last among qualifying players in Major League Baseball (don't ask me what the qualifications are). Small samples can't be taken seriously in baseball but he's always been the clutch guy.
Hopefully the tide turns because the last several years have been the opposite for us. Or maybe it's just random chance biting us in the ass. Either way I'm happy our division sucks
Re: Official MLB 2021 season thread...
Braves won 2 in a row and are at .500!!!!
Holy sheeeeeeeeiiiiit!
Re: Official MLB 2021 season thread...
Not to flog a dead horse, but Cabrera's batting a Career .368 in games in which he reaches base. Cobb is the all-time leader with a Career .412 batting average. It's astonishing how well I-Rod did when he reached base. Through 2016, Cabrera batted .372, for some others Stan Musial and Ted Williams both batted .377, Gehrig .376, and Joe DiMaggio .364
