Even when he was in his prime in STL he had plantar fasciitis and often played through it. If he had taken more time off probably would have had better longevity.
Don't follow baseball, but Aaron Judge just hit HR #61, tying an AL record.
The only guys who have hit more home runs in a season were all juiced.
The most hilarious thing about this is that no fan caught it and Judge got it back for free lol.
Welp, Braves daddy dikd the Mets this weekend :(

It really was, they had their 3 best pitchers going and the same 2 bums hit HRs off them every game. Someone remind these guys to NOT pitch Swanson fastballs... Mets big hitters were ass, only one that really showed up was Mcneil. Lindor and Polar bear Pete... how about some pop? Singles ain't beating the Braves. But still, now that I am over the whoopin, I hope degrom and max find themselves. Not confident against Padres but still have faith in them 2.
Braves played great
Yep and the Mets played like shit. Braves been damn good for a while though. Kinda have to, to come back from 10.5 down.

Those 2 bums are both all stars :lol
But yea I don’t really view this as a Mets collapse. The Braves just took it. Since June 1st they’re 77-31.
That’s 114 win baseball overall a long span.

As bad as this series was, it’s not what lost the Mets the East. Atlanta’s a great team. They showed it.
What lost them the East was going 6-8 vs. WSH, MIA, CHC & OAK in Sept.
The Mets have to reset and get ready for Friday. It’s a tougher road, but it’s still in front of them.
Still have more confidence in the Mets getting right than San Diego doing anything.
The Padres aren't a great team. I'm not sure I've seen them be a great team for even a 3game stretch this season. Snell is pitching at his absolute best right now though.
lol Blake 5 innings Snell. I miss real pitchers. At least we have Sandy Alcantara.
Judge hit 62 btw. If he's clean he is now has the record for most homeruns in a year without steroids.
I can rest easy now. Braves are Division Champs for the 5th time in a row. Chop Chop.

What’s a “real” pitcher?
What’s a “real” pitcher?
Someone who can pitch over 5 innings consistently.
Someone who can pitch over 5 innings consistently.
Are there not people who can do that?
Are there not people who can do that?
Plenty of pitchers do this including one of Snell's teammates ... Yu Darvish.
It was a pretty clear inference he was talking about the top tier of strike throwers when the point of reference was Sandy Alcantara.
There's no reason to beat around the bush trying to trap RRR3 in his choice of words if you have an objection to that. :confusedshrug:

They're asked to do different things than they used to. In same manner that the 3 outcome mindset for hitters is used, the primary goal of most top pitchers these days is to miss bats. They can afford the extra pitches/decreased efficiency required because of the rise of bullpen arms.
Also because of the increase in stress on guys arms (and bodies in general) with the increase in velocity, you don't see too many guys come into an inning with much more than 95 or so pitches.
