Re: Official Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread
Yo BurningHammer, which WWE Superstars past and present do you find charismatic besides the typical names like Hogan, Savage, Austin or Rock? (Tag teams included)
John Cena
Roman Reign
Kurt Angle (He was a complete package. Too bad his body broke down fast and drugs ruined him.)
The Miz
Enzo (Yes. His charisma alone brought 205 Live to be watchable for awhile. Too bad he is small and problematic.)
Sami Zayn
The New Day

I would add Chris Jericho to that list. Great charisma and could work with anyone.

Who else? How about the women? Or tag teams?

Re: Official Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread
Who else? How about the women? Or tag teams?
AJ Lee
Sasha Banks
Becky Lynch
Hardy Boys
Also, to dig deeper in single male wrestlers:
Dusty Rhodes (He didn't really have a great run as an active wrestler in WWE compare to other promotions with the polka dots thing. But even that he made it somewhat worked.)
Goldberg
Mick Foley
Junk Yard Dog
Superstar Billy Graham (The prototype Hulk Hogan)
Bruno Sammartino (11 years title reign proves it.)
Andre The Giant
Roddy Piper
Rey Mysterio

Can't believe BurningHammer put himself out there like this:

Charisma draws and they drew massively during their peaks and continued to do so after. There are tons of legit badass pro wrestlers around but there are few that actually draws money.
There is a good reason WWE kept bringing 50-something Goldberg back over and over.

Agreed on the bold ones. A bunch of those are not that charismatic without their best-known gimmicks.

how are you separating their charisma from their characters/gimmicks
so only how they are in real life? I don't get it
and have you never seen Jesse Ventura before. wtf lol
David Schultz is another who's exactly like he was on tv
curt henning was every bit the heel shit talker in real life
brian pillman was legit crazy
charisma is personality. all of these people were larger than life personalities
you had goldberg and Roman reigns lol

Vince McMahon forcing his way back onto the board of directors of the WWE. He'll probably be head of creative after Royal Rumble. :oldlol:

Re: Official Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread
ESPN: "Stephanie McMahon announced her resignation as co-CEO of WWE on Tuesday evening, less than one week after her father, Vince McMahon, came out of retirement and returned as chairman of the board."
-
Re: Official Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread
The Saudis, the same group who owns LIV, is rumored to be the leading potential buyer of WWE. Steph resignation may be the response to that.

Further rumor: the deal is done. The Saudis will also turn the company private.

Re: Official Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread
I guess Vince is using the selling deal so that he will be brought back in full control of wrestling products, at least. Because the way Vince was out won't let him get back in straight away, he has to pull his voting power as he is still holding majority of WWE stocks to do so.

All the stories I've heard people shoot on Vince holding a grudge and not letting go of it... he might be determined to sell because he's not leaving the company to HHH, Steph or Shane after they "allowed" him to be removed.
-
Re: Official Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread
Shane might be a moot point b/c he doesn't seem to care about being involved in the executive side of things too much. But I think Vince more so wants to make sure he gets the best deal more so than get even w/ Trips and Steph.
Cody Rhodes won the Royal Rumble
It is very obvious he is gonna win. Lesser so, but about as obvious, for Rhea.
The best thing about this Royal Rumble is the last minutes of the show with the Bloodline storyline. I hadn't heard that massive pop in any WWE events for awhile.

Re: Wrestling Discussion Thread: WWE, AEW, All Pro Wrestling
I’m curious how they build a Cody/Roman Reigns match for Mania.
I’m curious how they build a Cody/Roman Reigns match for Mania.
Yeah. With Sami being the most over star in WWE right now, integrating Cody into the Bloodline feud could be more complicate than it supposes to be.
The current status reminds me of the years of Daniel Bryan's Yes Movement and Kofi Kingston's KofiMania.

Re: Wrestling Discussion Thread: WWE, AEW, All Pro Wrestling
It could be the time to break up the top belts held together by Roman for more almost a year. Since WM will be two nights again, why not having Roman work both nights defending each belts against both Cody and Sami?

I heard a rumor that Cody Rhodes is planning to bring back the Winged Eagle Belt if he wins the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania.

GCW has got Ibushi Kota for upcoming WrestleMania week events. :kobe:
A lot of promotions that is not WWE will try their hardest milking that week as dry as possible.

So it will be Roman vs Cody and Sami & KO vs Usos at WM. No Sami winning the top belts for you.

Rey Mysterio in WWE Hall of Fame. Stacy Kiebler and Great Muta are rumored to be in this year as well.
