Re: Did Lebron make "The Decision"? ...Or did Dan Gilbert make "The Plan"...
lmao if you're cleveland you let go of lebron and move on. it'd be stupid as hell to **** up your draft just to try and lure lebron only for him to not even consider it.
that ship sailed after dan gilbert wrote that pissy letter and then cleveland re hired mike brown :lol
Re: Did Lebron make "The Decision"? ...Or did Dan Gilbert make "The Plan"...
Nope, not happening? Why would Lebron want to go there? There are no proven super stars there. Kyrie is the closest to one, but he's not a good match with Lebron
Re: Did Lebron make "The Decision"? ...Or did Dan Gilbert make "The Plan"...
Absolutely not.
2. Cleveland is actually an incredible sports town. I'm pretty sure there's no other city even close to as small as Cleveland that have teams in all three major American sports.
Look, you're one of the better people here on ISH but I have to ask if you seriously believe that. Winning isn't everything in sports, but Christ, Cleveland has been in a bad drought. And the future is not exactly looking too bright, at least from an outsider's perspective.
And why conveniently leave hockey off the list? It's a major sport.
Re: Did Lebron make "The Decision"? ...Or did Dan Gilbert make "The Plan"...
Why? If you are going after Lebron...I don't see how he's coming over to play with what the 1 pick is getting you.
Honestly, even if there is no chance to get Lebron...I do that deal. Parker/Wiggins are so over-rated right now.
You know my feelings on LeBron, so you're barking up the wrong tree with that stuff.
I look at it like this... there are three top players in this draft, all of which play a position of a need for the Cavs (Parker, Wiggins, Embiid). Moving down to 4 would likely cost us a chance at drafting one of those guys and I honestly do not see another player in the Top 10 that makes any sense on this roster.
The only way it would make any sense is if the Cavs still want Embiid, but not at No. 1, but that's not a trade you make before the draft... that's a trade you make after the first three picks have been made and you know he's still on the board.
Quality > Quantity in the NBA. You can throw a bunch of pretty good pieces out the window for one guy that can turn your franchise's fortune around and not think twice about it. Missing out on the top three guys to pick up Afflalo and #12 would be a horrible idea, imo... whether James comes back or not.

The three major sports in America are football, baseball and basketball in that order. There's no "convenient" leaving off of hockey. It's not close to as popular in the US as the other three. That's not an opinion, it's a fact. Look at television ratings if you don't believe me.
Is hockey even broadcast on a major network any more? Don't you have to have a special version of NBC to even watch the playoffs?
And, championship droughts have nothing to do with how good a sports city is. Fans have no control over the fortunes of their professional sports franchises. All they can do is be fans... and Cleveland does that well.
Re: Did Lebron make "The Decision"? ...Or did Dan Gilbert make "The Plan"...
People just don't realize what appear to be small differences from prospect to prospect right now will end up being much bigger gaps in the NBA.
The best player from this draft will likely have much more value than the 4th best player from this draft. Thats just usually how it works.

How likely is it that the best player will go first? And even still Afflalo + two highish draft picks might give you a lot more value then the best player in this draft.

LOL @ this:
The acquisition of coach Byron Scott - A solid coach that preaches a fast break show-time offense for his teams while still instilling solid defense. Twice the coach Mike Brown was.
Re: Did Lebron make "The Decision"? ...Or did Dan Gilbert make "The Plan"...
I was talking about it in the sense of pursuing Lebron...so the SF need is irrelevant.
But I still do that deal regardless.
I really think people going this hard after Parker/Wiggins are going to be in for a huge disappointment. Of course, knowing the cavs they will **** up picks 4 and 12...so maybe they shouldn't do given their history of missing on picks.
But damn...that is a nice offer...you could get Afflalo, Embid, and a solid player at 12...I just don't see how you pass on that for Parker/Wiggins. But I rate them way lower than most I guess.
