^ That is pretty much exactly what happened. Though it came towards the end of my piss, and yes, piss splattered everywhere. Btw, it happened at the end of 3 separate pisses. My 4th and most recent didn't have a "quofe." Before seeing that post, I just started calling it a "peef."

For those curious, it was like when your water gets turned off in your home and then when it gets turned back on, there are air bubbles in your pipes. So when you turn on a faucet, the water starts but then starts sputtering suddenly and violently when the air pockets shoot out.

Well, I have no more surgeries in expected in the near future, so hopefully it is just a matter of recovering and moving on now. But the anti-rejection meds will be part of my life forever, and I will likely need another kidney in a couple decades even if everything goes as expected.

There have already been successful studies abroad where recipients got a bone marrow transplant from their donor prior to organ transplant. That effectively gives the recipient the same immune system as the donor, eliminating the need for anti-rejection and immunosupresant therapy.

I believe there's even a current US version of the study taking place.
