Its Week 8 already?! Shit, time flies
How Aaron Rodgers turns into a Tom Brady handhob is beyond me.
Skattleboo injury sucked. Daniel Jones continues looking good. Throw Sanders in Cleveland. Cowboys defense is god awful.
Daniels isn't playing tonight vs the Chiefs, what a bummer. Wanted to see a Mahomes vs Daniels showdown.
In other news, Drake Maye is now top 3 in MVP odds according to betting sites, behind Allen and Mahomes.

Jalen hurts a little over 1800 total yds 20td 1int. Not sure how he’s not in the MVP race. Makes zero sense. The disrespect.

People have eyes. I know you're a Philly guy and so are naturally biased but the eye test clearly shows us that he is not on the level of guys like Mahomes, Allen, and Jackson at all. He's never going to get serious MVP consideration because of that.
Drake Maye, on the other hand, has the ability to be.

Eye test for sure plays a role. So no I wouldn’t say from that stand point Hurts and MVP go together. The same applies for Daniel Jones and Baker Mayfield? Allen and Mahommes just seem like a reputation bump.

wow
How many great QBs are there right now?!
Eye test for sure plays a role. So no I wouldn’t say from that stand point Hurts and MVP go together. The same applies for Daniel Jones and Baker Mayfield? Allen and Mahommes just seem like a reputation bump.
I think that Jones and Mayfield are both more naturally gifted and more fluid QBs than Hurts. Sometimes a young QB just doesn't work out in a particular situation through no fault of their own. There's a reason they were #1 and #5 overall picks though.
As for Allen and Mahomes, you might be right. However, with Jackson and Burrow out, both are capable of single-handedly taking over games to levels that no one else playing can right now. So yes it's part reputation but also benefit of the doubt given the abilities that we know they both have.
How many great QBs are there right now?!
All lot. Probably more than there's ever been.
All lot. Probably more than there's ever been.
But in your mind, is that due to the actual talent these quarterbacks possess, or is it due to the way the game is played now i.e. with less defense being encouraged by the league, almost all QB hits/hard hits resulting in a personal foul, even other factors like having every drive start at the 35 now off of a touchback; or is it a combo of both?
Jalen hurts a little over 1800 total yds 20td 1int. Not sure how he’s not in the MVP race. Makes zero sense. The disrespect.
He’s a system qb. He has a beast O line, Brown and Smith, then Barkley
He’s a system qb. He has a beast O line, Brown and Smith, then Barkley
System qb? He’s a winner. Would win in any system. Stupid narrative of what’s around him. What % of QBs that won mvp don’t have talent around them? Beast OL? Etc etc
Dumb take by a dumb jock.
But in your mind is that due to the actual talent these quarterbacks possess, or is it due to the way the game is played now i.e. with less defense encouraged by the league, any QB hit/hard hit getting flagged, even things like starting your drive at the 35 on a touchback; or is it a combo of both?
Lame answer but I think it's both. It's easier to play the position now than it was 20 years ago and beyond, without question. However, I think with the philosophical changes with the position as well, it's opened things up for a wider variety of players with a wider variety of strengths to excel.
Black quarterbacks more commonly playing the position now has really strengthened the talent pool. I think, say...the 10 worst starting quarterbacks in the league now? Far superior than the 10 worst in 1995 regardless of rules.

Let’s see him win in a system where he isn’t surrounded by the best at every position and starts having to throw over 200 yards a game

Who's the better QB? McNabb or Hurts?
Who's the better QB? McNabb or Hurts?
He’s gonna Hurts simp then back himself into a corner when he realizes he’s going down the McNabb needed more help route.

That would be a very interesting hypothetical. Let's say the ten worst starters right now are
Fields
Kyler
Rattler
Wentz
Penix
Lawrence
Bryce
Gabriel
Flacco
Geno
And let's go with 1998 as that was the first year I started watching football, and say the 10 worst were roughly
Ryan Leaf
Craig Whelihan
Tony Banks
Danny Kanell
Jim Harbaugh
Trent Dilfer
Kordell Stewart
Kerry Collins
Charlie Batch
Jake Plummer
While I obv believe most of these guys would be putting up better numbers today, I think I'm inclined to believe you on that point.

Good analysis but I want to say bottom 10 are irrelevant. Not gonna ask you to do work I’m not willing to do but I would be interested in seeing the same done for top 10

So you can’t answer a simple question? Does your head hurt when you have to think?
How many offensive coordinators has Jalen Hurts played for since starting in the NFL?
Two questions for you meathead. Let’s see you attempt to answer them
Who's the better QB? McNabb or Hurts?
Jalen Hurts surpassed Mcnabb after the last SB win.

Would you rather have the best coach or a shitty O line, WR core, and running back
Or just have next man up at coaching and have elite teammates at every turn?
If you answer the previous then I guess you are a white supremist who thinks white guys need to lead and take credit for the accomplishments of what black men actually do.
I come back with something about your cringe “head” shit but everything I’m coming up with makes it sound like it’s coming from a 10 year old boy.
You’re dumb as ****.

Give McNabb what Hurts has and he gives you one too. Lol.
Give McNabb what Hurts has and he gives you one too. Lol.
Mcnabb has never delivered in the big games. Even in the SB he threw 3 costly interceptions. And threw up under the pressure.

Before I start I'm definitely assuming today beats 1998, but I'd be interested to do a comparison. I don't want to get into a nitpick of who's top 10 today and who isn't, but let's say this is an rough estimate of the top 10 QB's today
Mahomes
Allen
Burrow
Jackson
Goff
Love
Stafford
Herbert
Daniels
Maye
Compared to 1998
Cunningham
Young
Vinny
Chandler
Elway
Brunell
Favre
Aikman
Trent Green
Marino
What's crazy is how old that crop of QB's is, half of them were 35 and over.
Mcnabb has never delivered in the big games. Even in the SB he threw 3 costly interceptions. And threw up under the pressure.
Give him the best o line and aj brown, smith, Barkley and he’s good lol. He don’t even need that tush push cheese.

Pretty similar but I’m leaning on giving the old guys the edge here.

To. Brady
Joe Montana
John
Elway
Brett Favre
Steve Young
Peyton Manning
All HOF qbs who needed “help” and most had it when they won MVP. Knocking a QB by playing with really good talent is moronic to say the least. How many offensive coordinators has Jalen Hurts had since he became a start for the Eagles?
Simple question. I’m sure Google can help assist you in it

I just love seeing you go such off brand and belittling black men’s accomplishments because of their white coach lol
Plus if you had any sort of eye test you would know Jalen doesn’t stack up to the guys on your list.

Black and white men? Weird take. I asked you to let me know how many offensive coordinators Jalen Hurts has had. If you don’t think having a different coordinator every year doesn’t matter then you don’t know football. Which is fine, just say that.
It’s not about how Jalen hurts measure up to greats that are argued amongst the top 10 ever. The point is they all benefitted from elite talent around them which factored in their success be it production and/or winning. Again you’ll be hard pressed to find former MVP QBs who played with average talent at best. The two have and will always go hand and hand. The fact I had to explain this too young is sad. But when I consider what you have exposed about yourself. Color me not surprised.

Would you rather play with best o coordinator and have shit teammates or other way around? lol
What about not having tush push and being expected to throw for over 200 yards to get the W? lol
Jalen is the biggest overachiever and a low key bum
I mean the thing he’s most celebrated about is his ability to do an assisted qb sneak, lol. That should be telling enough
Overachiever? Every level Jalen has been at he’s been doubted. And every situation he rose to the occasion and made people eat crow. The guy is a winner. The guy is a leader. In a world where sports fans b*tch and complain about their “stars” coming up short, not getting the job done etc. Jalen delivers time and time again. Fans caught up in “stats” but ignore the wins. Ignore the big game moments. Ignore the fact he just won a SB outperforming Pat Mahommes not once but twice (in the big game). Pat has no talent tho. None whatsoever. (Sarcasm).

Overachieving while throwing for 200 yards a game and most of those are inaccurate moonballs AJ brown has to run under and beast mode, then he got the qb sneaks. If you think Jalen is an elite QB you must have never played sports or a hard core Philly homer and or dumb as shit. And god damn you check all of the boxes lol.

Mahomes and Allen could definitely make due without an elite O-line because of their improvisational ability to throw the football and run if chased. You are right though most QBs dont survive without that. It takes elite arm talent and scrambling ability. Rodgers, Mahomes, Allen, etc. types can make something out of nothing. Even guys like Tom Brady and Drew Brees were system QBs because they couldn't do that and needed an elite system around them.
Drake Maye is the leader for MVP right now.

Yes Jalen is a good leader, and that is important.
As for Maye..he is capable of doing things physically that Jalen simply can't. Period. That's why people go "gaga googoo" over him more. Plus he's showing a ton of poise for a young guy without really notable talent around him and a young (though slightly improving) OL.
