The Magic are expected to interview Utah Jazz assistant coach Jeff Hornacek and Phoenix Suns player development coach Lindsey Hunter soon. Hornacek's candidacy was reported first by The Salt Lake Tribune. Hunter's previously was reported by WKMG. Orlando Sentinel
Steve Luhm: Jazz assistant Jeff Hornacek has emerged as a candidate for the head coaching job in Orlando, the Tribune has learned. More to come. Twitter
Brian T. Smith: #UtahJazz assistant Jeff Hornacek on Orlando Magic's interest in him for team's head coaching position: "If that's the case, then while I'm in Orlando and they want to talk to me, that'd be great." Twitter
I think he'll be a good one someday.

Don't seem like very realistic trades but could be interesting. Doubt CJ is going to get the kind of money to make these deals work and Richardson it sounds like will go in the Howard bonanza. Rip could be a great fit if he can stay healthy and still has anything left in the tank though.
Jazz General Manager Kevin O'Connor declined comment when asked about Raja Bell's pending buyout. O'Connor said Utah continues to explore its options during free agency. The Jazz are open to sign-and-trade possibilities, but O'Connor said they're always easier said than done. He also didn't rule out Utah re-signing unrestricted free agents C.J. Miles and/or Josh Howard.

One intriguing option would be swingman C.J. Miles, an unrestricted free agent who has started for the Jazz and could add athleticism. Chicago Tribune
You can have him! Throw Earl in on a sign and trade and maybe it would be enough to get Korver back? Not sure I want Korver though. Brewer might be ok but he made more sense with Okur.
Brian T. Smith: All indications are meeting went well between Hornacek and Magic. Still early in the process, though. Twitter
Brian T. Smith: Jeremy Evans just signed a three-year, $5.5 million deal. Came down to #SummerLeague on own time, just to be around team and work out. Twitter
Brian T. Smith: Jeremy Evans still warming up. Asked if he's playing, shakes his head, smiles and says, "Naw." Working up a sweat, though. #SummerLeague Twitter
Why isn't he playing? He needs it more than Demarre.
Jazz guard Earl Watson watched the game from the bench. Watson said he began jogging Wednesday, plans to resume basketball activities in August, and hopes to be at 100-percent health for the start of training camp.
Hopefully he'll be 100% for another team.

Looks like Korver might be headed to Portland.
Brewer didn't get his option picked up by the Bulls, although he did say they might re-sign him if he takes a paycut. Reckon he'd be an option to replace Raja Bell?
Brewer might make more sense if they get rid of Jefferson in the paint. He did his work around the basket and made a lot of sense when Okur was planted on the 3 point line. Hayward, Marvin, Brewer and Demarre on the wing would be nice defensively.
Brian T. Smith: DeMarre Carroll (left ankle sprain) will attempt to play against Pacers. ... Salah Mejri is no longer with #UtahJazz's #SummerLeague team Twitter
What about Sims? Says he's on the Bulls roster in Vegas.
Marc Stein: Mark Bartelstein, agent for Calderon, confirms to ESPN that trade talks underway. He & Raps prez Colangelo "working together" to find deal Twitter
Jefferson/Watson for Calderon and Johnson? Works without Johnson too. Jazz would get a nice trade exception it looks like as well. Maybe get another team(s) involved if Toronto doesn't want Jefferson.
Evan Dunlap: All-Summer-League 1st team: Alec Burks, Lance Stephenson, Austin Daye, Andrew Nicholson, Miles Plumlee Twitter
Pretty good considering his first and last games kind of sucked. They were talking like he was the best player there. Should have been one of the best. A couple rookie big men making it over Kanter though. Kendall Gill mentioned Stockton as one of the guys that stood out because of his D. All defensive team he said. I think he said best defensive guard. I think they should be looking to get him. I'm sure his buyout from a second division German squad is minimal. Not like dad couldn't foot the bill anyway.
Tony Mejia: Lindsey Hunter & Michael Curry share Pistons ties with Asst. GM Scott Perry. While also in mix for #Magic HC job, Hornacek//Vaughn top list. Twitter
Two former Jazzmen in the lead.
