Re: Official MLB 2021 season thread...
So Lindor and Baez on the Mets have started boo'ing the fans. What kinda loser-type shit is that? Would have disciplined their asses and benched them for a week. Grow a spine and stop crying about being booed. Especially Lindor. So tired of that guy. Another 9 and half years of this guy :lol
While I agree for the most part, fans booing their own players in baseball seems really counterintuitive to me.
Re: Official MLB 2021 season thread...
That Braves lineup even without Acuna can put it on you.
All those smart people including myself :lol looking really foolish predicting the Giants would collapse.
Re: Official MLB 2021 season thread...
It's weird, I wasn't excited about the win last night. Being a Dodgers fan just isn't that fun these days. They are everything I used to hate about the Yankees with an overwhelming talent advantage. They just steamrolled the NL East on their way to first place.
Re: Official MLB 2021 season thread...
Jays are gotta sweep Yanks to take over one of wildcard spots. They just swept A's last weekend and got key players back (Springer, Pearson).

And Jays did it. Only 1/2 game off the wildcard spot now.

Scary scary lineup
Re: Official MLB 2021 season thread...
That Braves game last night was frustrating as hell.
That entire bullpen needs to be blown up next season.
Re: Official MLB 2021 season thread...
What the hell is wrong with the Yankees? Got smacked around by the Mets tonight. Since winning 13 in a row, they've looked dead.

Lack of pitching and situational hitting. Combine that with injuries where beasts like Stanton, Voit, and Judge can't play every day and you get this. And Odor was a horrible pick up. Hate that guy. Can't hit for shit.
But I'm a Braves fan so the fate of the Yanks is irrelevant to me. :lol
Re: Official MLB 2021 season thread...
Every time I look at the standing , I see no competition for the Brewers , third best record in the league ... sneaky ??
under the radar ???
They could be the Bucks !!
Re: Official MLB 2021 season thread...
I guess ESPN finally said something right, that might have been Lindor's welcome to the Mets moment. It took 6 months :lol
He better be good next year, but I am good with him now. He shut up the Yankees.
Re: Official MLB 2021 season thread...
Holy shit...been arguing with these young kids and Ohtani fanboys on how Guerrero deserves the MVP over Ohtani. Guerrero leads Ohtani in every offensive category, and is .04 percentage points away from being in contention to win the Triple Crown. Meanwhile, Ohtani is batting in the .250's, but because he can pitch, he is more deserving of the MVP over Guerrero Jr.?? **** outta here.

If Blue Jays manages to win the AL East (long shot, but possible), Vlad Jr is 100% the AL MVP. But for now it is debatable and it is still leaning toward Shohei.
44 HRs, 4.7 offensive WAR (rare for DHs), and very good pitching stats will still make a case of Shohei.
Re: Official MLB 2021 season thread...
I would much rather have Vlad Jr than Ohtani 100%. Sure Ohtani is hella marketable, a lot more than his teammate Trout...but imagine thinking someone winning the triple crown as well as leading his team to the playoffs is not enough just because the other guy can pitch 100mph. Not to mention Ohtani is not on a winning team but I know that means nothing for MVP as Trout would win every year on a bad team.

Yes.
.972 OPS for a guy who starts every 6 days...and has a 3.36 ERA in the American league. Ohtani could not play another inning this year and he's still the shoe-in MVP.
It's not just that he can pitch. It's that he pitches well , and consistently. This is not some dude who throws 100 and comes in to either walk or strike people out in the 8th inning of a blowout to get the fans and media riled up.
He's the teams number one starter..
And he has 23 steals too. And is almost 2 wins more valuable if you like WAR.
