According to Statmuse, the Lakers are the first team since 1984-'85 to be one of the top two teams picked to win the championship and not make the playoffs LOL. What makes it worse is the Lakers still had a shot by making the 10th seed as a play-in.

Our 2005 team was tied for #2 in odds to win a championship and we didn't make the playoffs that year as well.
