He’s already incredibly impactful defensively, and shows very promising spurts offensively.
It will take him a long time to fill out, if he does it to quickly he’ll get injured.
But when he does, to at least a Porzingis or KD build, the sky is almost the limit.
Will never be able to control an area laterally or physically dominate with force, like heavier bigs, but COULD dominate in a less deebo way with just reach and finesse and skill.
Very unlikely he will ever be the actual GOAT, but he has the long term potential to get in the top ten, if all goes well, and his shins don’t shatter unexpectedly.
Rewatching his tape vs the Nuggets is crazy.

:biggums:
Dude was dribbling and pulling up from 30 like Curry at one point.
@ 2:05 above is insane that a 7'5 center can do that. He's got that rare super tall Kevin Durant finesse athleticism but is half a foot taller than KD.
Other teams must be pissed the Spurs keep winning the lotto when it's the Admiral, the Alien, and the Fundamental available, and everyone else getting top picks when it's Andrea Bargnani and Markelle Fultz

The Spurs took Manu at 57th, Tony Parker at 28th, Kawhi at 15, and guys like Bruce Bowen went undrafted. Their scout team, development coaching, and management is beyond top rank.

GOAT is a tall order because that requires too much of your career to play out the right way. GOAT is more than just ability. All time rankings are not based off of on court ability as individuals. They are based on some combination of things, primarily how much winning they did which is heavily dependent on how good of a team you have around you, which you do not control.
That being said, even if he gets hurt tomorrow, Wembanyama is the best player that has ever lived. He could get a career ending injury tomorrow and it doesn't matter, nobody has ever been this good.
There has never been an individual basketball player this good ever. And he could peak anywhere from 4 to 8 years from now. Gross.
Im sorry but I just do not see enough greatness for him to genuinely pass Lebron, Bronny and Bryce on the all time GOAT career list.
But everything from 4th GOAT and down is in play.

You have to see how he responds to the increased physicality and pressure in the playoffs, particularly later rounds. For all we know he could go like Embiid in these scenarios.
I expect him to be fine..we just don't know.
Amazing season start for him. The only thing that sorta concerns me is watch his ankle on the and 1 play after the block .... dude almost rolls his ankle like 3 times in a row.

I would probably suggest to him to wear high top sneakers with more support because that looks kinda dicey. Whatever he's wearing there (his signature shoe?) ain't it.
I know they're more fashionable right now but I'm really not a big fan of the lower cut style shoes that everyone seems to wear nowadays. If I was an NBA player I wouldn't wear them.
Good as Wemby is I'd love to see him in a more physical era.
He just got locked up to the tune of a single-single against Mark 'piece of glass' Williams.

I still stand by this.
