Dewayne Dedmon Seeking Trade From Kings
DEC 27, 2019 3:40 PM
Dewayne Dedmon wants a trade from the Sacramento Kings, according to sources that spoke with Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Dedmon signed a three-year, $41 million contract with the Kings in the offseason.
Luke Walton is believed to have soured on Dedmon and neither side believes the union can be salvaged.
Dedmon hasn't played in eight of the past 10 games.
Multiple teams are making offers for Dedmon in hopes of a deal by the deadline.

Mike Conley Likely Out Multiple Additional Weeks With Hamstring Strain

Mike Conley Jr. is likely to miss multiple additional weeks with his reaggravated left hamstring strain.
Conley re-injured the hamstring on Dec. 17 after missing two weeks with the strain.
Conley was acquired by the Utah Jazz from the Memphis Grizzlies last offseason.

Coming in at fourth on this list, Ricky Rubio is one of those Jazz players I wished could have stayed longer had circumstances allowed. Ultimately it was his lack of outside shooting touch that did him in for being replaced by Mike Conley, but other than that Rubio was a great NBA player for the Jazz.
missed layups, to's bad D, bone head passes...
I was tempted to put Mike Conley in here, but as far as influence goes Rubio played in the stretch run of the 2018-19 season when the Jazz stormed back into the playoff picture. His 22 point and 11 assist outing versus the Hawks in February and his 20 point 13 assist performance on April fools day were some of his best games in 2019. Despite the trade buzz surrounding the Jazz with Mike Conley, Rubio dealt with it very well despite knowing he would probably play for a new team the following season.
he cried about it. How is that dealing with it very well? :lol
Before this season started, I assumed Mike Conley would be the second scoring option behind Donovan Mitchell. I knew Bojan Bogdanovic had done well in Indiana taking over the scoring load when Victor Oladipo went down with a quad injury, but I had no idea he was this prolific of a scorer.
even though he did it last year.:facepalm
Donovan Mitchell is no longer sneaking up on opponents as a draft steal; he is becoming a full-fledged superstar in the league. He is a consistent bet to score over 20 points in nearly every game, and the Jazz are built to go as far as Mitchell and Gobert take them.
superstar?
When Gobert is paired with Ingles, their pick and roll game is a thing of beauty. More often than not Gobert is an offensive threat, and a game changer/superstar on the defensive end of the ball. If defense got as much credit and hype as offense and scoring, then Gobert would be as valuable as LeBron James, James Harden, Luka Doncic, and other superstars.
Is finding a new backup center a high priority?
should be the highest priority
Aside from hoping Davis improves his play, the only other option is Tony Bradley, who has seen the most meaningful minutes of his career thanks to Davis’ recent incompetence. But Bradley currently seems only capable of a few minutes per stint before Quin Snyder begins anxiously counting the seconds before he can comfortably cut short Rudy Gobert’s resting spells on the bench.
Morgan needs a look
Frankly speaking, the Jazz don’t have any valuable players they’re willing to move. Emmanuel Mudiay, Bradley and Davis — the most expendable players at the moment — will hardly net much in return without sending compensation. The necessity to send second round picks to get Jordan Clarkson proves that point. If Utah wants better players than they have, they’ll have to pay for them in assets.
then that's what you do
Should Joe Ingles move back to the bench when Mike Conley comes back?
I think they have to try it again and hope having better players around him will help. Bradley can run the pick and roll and Clarkson has been great
An interesting tidbit, however, is that among Utah’s 20 lineups that have seen more than 15 minutes (and that aren’t impossible because certain players have been traded), the two best are lineups where Mitchell and Conley do not share the floor.
COTY has to figure a way to make it work
A little over 21 of Conley’s 29.4 minutes per game come with Mitchell on the court. It might behoove Snyder to cut that down by a few minutes and stagger his two backcourt scorers. The two are similar in some ways in terms of style, so, reaching into the realms of speculation, it’s possible the two are redundant and not quite complimentary. At least not yet.
One on court at all times makes sense but now you have Clarkson not to mention Mudiay as well
I think the second biggest surprise was how suddenly the Jazz parted with Jeff Green, and then replaced him with a much smaller player in Jayvon Tucker—when it is apparent that the Jazz are already undersized in the front court (other than Rudy Gobert, Ed Davis and Tony Bradley).
Having serious championship aspirations for the current season has apparently made Jazz management less patient than in previous seasons, as is also evidenced by the trade of Dante Exum (whom the Jazz has patiently waited on for over 5 years) for Jordan Clarkson.
The actions Jazz management has already taken in the early portion of the trade season creates speculation as to what additional actions Jazz management might take between now and the trade deadline—and whether any player (other than Donovan and Rudy) is safe from a trade (even prized new additions Mike Conley and Ed Davis), if the Jazz believe a trade would help the team in its urgent quest to be a legitimate contender.
I’m not going to take the time to review past mid-season trades. That’s a lot of Jazz history to dig through for a game recap. But my instant reaction right now is that Jordan Clarkson is one of the best mid-season acquisitions in Utah Jazz franchise history. He’s an absolute game changer for the bench. I’m to the point where I’m worried he’ll make more than we can afford this summer, but I’ll worry about that then. For now, I’m just going to sit back and enjoy him roasting teams night in and night out.
