Re: LeBron says he's ready to "dust off" post game in Bosh absence
Miami: Miamia Heat coach Eric Spoelstra has informed the Heat beat reporters that Lebron James will introduce a new post move known as the "Lobster Dribble"
"It's like the Crab dribble with two more steps, we think it will help him turn around and square up on the basket and open the floor for him." Spoelstra continued by saying the Lobster dribble is a move Lebron himself invented in practice to save energy "Lebron was getting tired dribbling the ball." Spoelstra went on to say "Dribbling is mentally tiring for Lebron and asked if he could cut back in practice and save it for the games when there's more people watching who will appreciate his style" but once the Heat coaching staff saw the Lobster they knew they had a winner and have asked Lebron to incorporate it into his post game.
Rumor has it he's also working on the Crawfish for Zone defenses, there was no word on how soon the "Crawfish" dribble would follow.
Re: LeBron says he's ready to "dust off" post game in Bosh absence
Lebron should have a much more effective post game for his size. Much, much more.
Agree.
His face up game is just as ineffective.
You have to be kidding me!? Haha, his face up game is probably the most productive and efficient in the NBA! :oldlol: Thats basically how he gets most of his points for gods sake, mostly you see jab to either direction and then bam he is off one dribble and he is already by you at the rim looking for a AND1.
Lebron is not the type of player who should get the ball, isolated, slow down the offense and make a play. Usually ends up in the terrible shot, turnover, bailout three and the ofcourse the bail out whistle.
Are we watching the same players? Now i know he didnt look like a master last game, but that statement is mindbogling, have you seen him in Cleveland or previous games? He makes wonders from isolations, he either gives you an assist or scores, that is how it "mostly" looked like sorry to say.
Plus i dont understand this "isolation" talk, he is not a traditional SF/SG/wingplayer where you just give him the ball and wait for him to score, he is a point-forward, when you give a point-forward back the ball you give him the ball the same way you give your pointguard the ball, you give him the ball to create a play, to playmake, not to just score! Thats not necessarily an ISO!
In conclusion thought, it's not good. And it's not something he should be doing. Especially with a team like Miami, plays should be run for him, pnr, pnp etc etc. No reason why he should settle for his weak back-to-basket/face-to-face games.
Those "weak" back-to-basket/face-to-face games have worked pretty well in the past, especially when it mattered, dont mind Phongs gifs, he didnt show you when he humiliated for example Ron Artest all season long down there last season, thats just one example of many.
And im still saying his post game needs work, but its not that ridicilously bad as you (and Phong) try to state, it almost feels like im talking to only Lebron haters or something.
And just because Bosh is out doesn't mean he should 'dust off' his 'post game'. Wade is much better in the post anyways, he should've been in there especially when Feilds or Gallinari couldn't guard him, but Lebron went into hero mode and Wade was forced to work off the ball and made Wade irrelevant in the fourth. These were reasons for the loss. Lebron trying to do something out of the ordinary and it resulted in him being ineffective and eventually Wade became a victim.
Why not? The first game he did "dust-off" (the previous game) he looked phenomenal there (sorry, Phong didnt bother to make GIF's out of those) so there is no "proof".
Hence why Lebron felt confident going there this game aswell and rightfully so but he was completely off, he missed the shots not because of a "bad post game", he missed shots simply because he missed the shots, do we call him a bad finisher and jumpshooter for also missing those entirely open layups and jumpshots to?
When Lebron has a good shooting night = You are not commenting
When Lebron has a bad shooting night = You are commenting and saying that he is a terrible shooter.
When Lebron has a good night in the post = You are not commenting, ignoring it like it never happened.
When Lebron has a bad night in the post = You are commenting and saying he has a terrible post game.
Your logic doesnt make sense...

Do you know what a face up game is? I don't think so, because you say he gets most of his points from here. This tells me alot about your knowledge towards the game and Lebron's game. Lebron gets most of his points working within an offensive set. Pick and roll, pick and pop, zip cuts, off the ball, catch and drive etc etc.
When he gets the ball isolated on the wings or corners, slows down the offense, little to no off ball movement, he is almost completely ineffective. This is where he decides to either post-up or try something from his face-up game. He screws up quite often here.
Are we watching the same players? Now i know he didnt look like a master last game, but that statement is mindbogling, have you seen him in Cleveland or previous games? I have. I should be asking you this, do you know how Lebron scores? Because isolation is not his #1 choice, not at all, nor should it be. Isolation plays are the reason why he's shooting -3%-4%. Which is not a big problem, but not something you'd expect from someone of Lebron's size and talent.
Humiliated Ron Artest? I remember one play where his posted Ron up and it resulted in a basket. The others were setting picks for Artest to get him out of the picture, and when that didn't work either refs tookover or Lebron used his speed to his advantage. Honestly do you even watch these games?
And im still saying his post game needs work, but its not that ridicilously bad as you (and Phong) try to state, it almost feels like im talking to only Lebron haters or something.
It's just below expectations, that's all.

It's Calderon, Julian Wright, and Raptors. This raptors team is the worst its ever been in the past decade and more. Nothing impressive here.

He was making the layups and dunks. You saw near the end he got 3-4 feild goals because he chose not to isolate! Most of his baskets, if not all came from outside his post-up and face-up game!

When Lebron has a good shooting night = You are not commenting

I am. This is irrelevant. I gave him much praise for his game against Cleveland.

He again looked pretty good in the post tonight. Didn't play a whole lot though. Miami needed someone to create from the perimeter with Wade out.

Phong suffered a major heart attack. 39 points on 60 FG&, 9 rebounds, 8 assists.
Do you know what a face up game is? I don't think so, because you say he gets most of his points from here.
I do sorry to say, unfortunately you dont. Ill break it down for you:
A Face-Up is when a player is catching the ball and facing up square with the basket. From this position, a post player can see the whole floor. If another defender rushes over to double team you, a teammate should cut and receive a pass for a wide open layup. If the your defender sags off too much, BOOM!, you rise up for the open jumper. What if the defense is too tight? Put the ball on the deck and take a hard jab step to the basket.
This is what Lebron is excellent at.
This tells me alot about your knowledge towards the game and Lebron's game.
Thats the way we retaliate huh? As far as Lebron goes, i have probably not missed a single game from him, i am basketball fan sorry to say i have not missed a game with Kobe since 1996 and not with Wade or not with many players actually, dont try your "ur teh Lebronze homerizm" here thank you very much.
Lebron gets most of his points working within an offensive set. Pick and roll, pick and pop, zip cuts, off the ball, catch and drive etc etc.
True and from Facing Up, the point is not how he gets most of his points, the point was made towards your ridicilous point "Lebrons faceup is more ineffective than his post game", dont try to slither your way out of this one.
When he gets the ball isolated on the wings or corners, slows down the offense, little to no off ball movement.
Ofcourse it slows the offense, what do you expect? This is what ISO's do! Do you know anything about basketball?
he is almost completely ineffective.
Care to elaborate? I have not heard anything but yackety yack "boohoo he sux, he is ineffective".

So you deny anytime he posts up and is successful because of defense? How do we explain when he is successful against super defenders like tonight Tayshuan Prince and anybody else who tried or how about when he is not successful against the worst players in the NBA?
You have absolutely no proof of that, you know that yourself. I am a basketball fan first and foremost, i dont hate Lebron, i dont love Lebron, but i appreciate his game and i will criticise him when he diserve it and i will respect him when he diserves it and i will correct the incorrect statements about him (like yours) with facts, same goes with all players Kobe, Wade, Dwight, Durant, CP3, Nash, Ibaka, Ilgauskas, Vujacic, whoever you like!
"Homerism" is what i hear all the time from you pathetic Lebron haters lately. Either you hate Lebron or you are a Lebron homer amongst you guys here and even if you are just a unbiased basketball fan who sticks to facts who simply appreciates all players and teams correcting and debating you out of your monitor you are still just a "Lebron homer".
Just stop it, stop.

It was just a joke. Thanks for the insult though (and the pathetic neg to i guess), but you are very wrong and since you reacted this way i feel its you who probably "got owned", now go whine to your circle-jerk crew so you can mass-neg another great poster you cant debate or retaliate with, see how much i care about this "reputation" system.

Right you got the right idea of what it is. But then you say Lebron is excellent at it? Not at all. Most of his misses, if not all of them against Detroit came off of his faceup isolations. So get a clue buddy.

It's not me retaliating, it's a legitimate wondering. It seems like you don't know how Lebron works. You continuesly contradict yourself and makeup stuff in the process. I'm just curious if you've been blindly following him.

I said it's just as ineffective. Maybe less. But it's not 'Excellent'. Don't kid yourself. Lebron struggles when he limits himself to these types of possessions and hurts his team alot.
Ofcourse it slows the offense, what do you expect? This is what ISO's do! Do you know anything about basketball?
No, it's slows him down and the team! Honestly do you know how Lebron operates!? :facepalm
Him and the offense being slown down is NOT GOOD for ANYONE but the defense. Fucking hell man get this through your skull already.
Stopped caring right there.
Oh so we're gonna pretend Lebron doesn't get the benefit of the whistle? Hell lets go the Xmas day game, at one point late in the game I remember on Lebron drive everyone literally paused for 5 whole seconds because they were expecting a whistle. You can go back and check the thread a bunch of people (lakers fans and non-lakers fans) were lolin our asses off.. :oldlol:
So you deny anytime he posts up and is successful because of defense? How do we explain when he is successful against super defenders like tonight Tayshuan Prince and anybody else who tried or how about when he is not successful against the worst players in the NBA?
Tayshaun Prince supardafandar!?
Like what is this 2004? :oldlol:
Prince, and the pistons haven't been relevant on defense for years. Prince has massively degraded on defense, not to mention it takes a team to stop players like Lebron/Wade/Durant/Kobe etc etc. Kinda nice when a 6'11 twig and an undersized rookie are guarding the paint, you got another 6'9 grandpa twig on ya and you got Tmac and Ben Gordan rotating around you. Seriously what a nightmare defensive team. Bravo Lebron.
And besides, most of Lebron's points weren't off isolation, whether it be posting up or faceups, it was everything else.
You have absolutely no proof of that, you know that yourself. with or without this 'post game' he still manages to be the best player in the game by a fair margin. that in itself is impressive.
