8 games is kind of light. I thought he would've gotten at least 15.

For brandishing a gun? Artest got less for knocking out Harden.

In the pecking order of bad behavior, I think what Artest did was MUCH worse than what Ja did. Ja was being a clown acting like a wanna be gangsta, Artest physically assaulted somebody. Do you seriously think Ja's behavior was worse?

Both were bonehead moves. One on the court, one off the court.
Ja is worse as an off the court matter effects on the court. Artest happened in the heat of battle. Ja's on the heat of passion.

Ok, in regards to which is more detrimental to the team, I would agree what Ja did was much more damaging to the organization. After Artest's elbow the Lakers were able to just go about their business. The situation with Ja will linger over the team for the rest of the season, and will very likely have long term repercussions.

Also, I always thought Andrew Bynum shot to JJB was much much worse than Artest elbow.

So Ja Morant threatened a kid with a gun, Ja Morant and his friends pointed laser sighted guns at people in an NBA arena, and Ja Morant brandished a gun on IG which would only logically conclude he had it on the team plane and on NBA property.
And he gets 8 games.
Anyone who thinks Adam Silver isn't soft compared to David Stern is not paying attention.

An investigation determined he broke no laws. He shouldn't have been suspended at all.

But he didn't explicitly violate any rules other than the very vague "conduct detrimental..."
