Re: ESPN: Lakers looking to trade for BOTH CP3 & Dwight Howard
The sad thing about this is if it happened Kobe would be the 3rd best player on his team now as most felt Dwight and CP3 were better than Kobe last year.
Who gives a shyt!? Its about teams & rings. Besides Kobe will still be the leader and has as good of shot to get FMVP. But all that comes 2nd
Re: ESPN: Lakers looking to trade for BOTH CP3 & Dwight Howard
The Lakers have had a frantic need for a point guard for the last 6 years otherwise they would get dominated by opposing guards.
Then they went to three straight finals and won two in a row.
Get Dwight.
Re: ESPN: Lakers looking to trade for BOTH CP3 & Dwight Howard
I would rather get Dwight and not get Chris Paul. I think a Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard frontcourt would be scary.
If Gasol can play like he did in 2010, yes. If he plays anything like last year, then the LA should ship him while some people still think that last year was a fluke.

As Long as his GF doesn't cheat on him he will play fine :lol

I hope he doesn't have a horny mama. I'm afraid that may be next :lol
Re: ESPN: Lakers looking to trade for BOTH CP3 & Dwight Howard
How bout this?
Trade #1:
Lakers get Dwight Howard and Hedo Turkoglu
Magic get Andrew Bynum and Lamar Odom
Trade #2:
Lakers get Chris Paul
Pacers get Pau Gasol
Hornets get Danny Granger and Nick Collison
Those trades could be tweaked, but that's the basic structure.
:confusedshrug:
yes, a third team needs to get involved.. Someone like the Bobcats who have pleanty of wing players but lack bigs. Or the Celtics who are not only trying to go for a last run but are trying to get rid of Rondo

I just don't see Kobe/CP3/Howard meshing together personality wise. I could Deron/Kobe/Howard but I think CP3 and Kobe will have issues.

Would you care to elaborate on that? I may be missing something.
I would imagine that both players would do their best to win a ring together.
Re: ESPN: Lakers looking to trade for BOTH CP3 & Dwight Howard
Dwight? Yea but Paul? Not quite. Was great in the playoffs though.
Well ESPN would actually consider him the 3rd best. But I agree. CP3's one of my favorite players, but he's gotten somewhat overrated since that series. I've been hearing debates about who should a team go after between Howard and CP3. I don't think its a debate. This isn't 2008 and 2009 CP3 anymore. He's clearly declined. Its like people completely forget the time between 2009 and the 2011 1st round series.

Just don't think they would naturally get along. 2 natural alpha personalities, Kobe won't back down to anyone and neither will CP3. I just don't see it working well chemisty wise but it is purely a guess.

I would hope that after the Shaq fiasco and a lot of individual success Kobe would be able to handle being possibly the 3rd best player on the Lakers, even if it is his team. But like you I'm not sure it'd be feasible to expect them to co-exist long-term.
Re: ESPN: Lakers looking to trade for BOTH CP3 & Dwight Howard
This is whats gonna happen.
Step 1: 3 way trade
Celtics: Gasol
Hornets: Rondo
Lakers: Paul
Of course with fillers, Its obvious Celtics want to trade Rondo for a scoring option to take pressure off Pierce, Gasol will fill that need and the lack of Center position they have.
Step 2: Trade 4 Dwight.
Send Bynum + fillers for Dwight Howard + Torkulu
I don't see where the issues would arise. Paul seems to be an easy going guy that prefers to create wide open shots for other people. Kobe will still get some iso time in. Dwight will get his buckets from easy looks/lobs created by Paul & cleaning up everyone else's mess.
I still think only Dwight has the realistic chance at putting on the lakers uni though.

True. I would feel much more comfortable with Howard than CP3 going forward because Dwight has no question marks in addition to being more impactful. I'm not completely sold on Paul's knee long term.
