Re: TRADE: Cavs trade Andrew Bynum, picks to Bulls for Luol Deng
A lot of people are ignorant in this thread. It's a chance the organization is going to take and I'm fine with it. The Knicks go out and trade for a player where they are the weakest at, at that position and people crucify them for it. I see a lot of...
"OMG Knicks got robbed, they traded 3 picks for it!"
...they act like we gave up 3 top 10 guaranteed picks for Bargnani. Two of them are second rounders, and the protected pick is a Nuggets swap pick.

Fixed.

Once again, a team being praised for tanking. The NBA, ladies and gentlemen.....:hammerhead:
Re: TRADE: Cavs trade Andrew Bynum, picks to Bulls for Luol Deng
The Bulls can take the 2 2nd round picks and swap them out to move into the first round in the 18-30 range in the draft, because there usually are a few teams that are looking to save cap space for a free agent run.
So effectively, the Cavs gave up 2 first round picks.
And that is just for this season. The Cavs could simply have waited until the summer to sign him then and not give up anything. But the Cavs are still fighting for this season.
Also we don't know if the Cavs wanted to include Anthony Bennett in the deal instead or whether the Bulls didn't want him.
effectively they really gave up 3 second rounders because the kings aren't making the playoffs anytime soon. Yes the bulls can theoretically package the picks to make moves which is exactly what the cavs did when they had him.
Anthony Bennett? I don't think he'd be on the trading block so soon, but either him or TT could be moved sometime down the road.
Re: TRADE: Cavs trade Andrew Bynum, picks to Bulls for Luol Deng
so it is possible deng play tonight? or 0% chance

Deng is a very good player, but more importantly he can change the basketball culture for the team.
And the owner is saying - we've spent enough time in the lottery, let's get in the playoffs.
Also, he is looking at the young players and see which player are going to grow and which ones won't.

The trade was announced last night at like 2 AM Eastern so chances are about 0.1% chance of Deng playing tonight. Debut will probably be Friday against the Jazz.
Re: TRADE: Cavs trade Andrew Bynum, picks to Bulls for Luol Deng
Count down to D-Rose for asking for a trade.

..and he will end up nowhere with that contract of his.

This is an awful post.
First off, the Sac pick is almost certainly going to be a second round pick as they absolutely won't be out of the bottom 12 this year and it looks doubtful they will be out of the bottom 10 the following two years. So its a Sac 2nd rd pick in 2017.
The 2nd rd picks are both from Portland. So you are looking at ~56-58 this year and late next year. The two of them together MIGHT garner a ~#45 pick but I doubt it (last year the Bucks traded #43 and next year's #2 for #38).
So Cle gave up NO first round picks and there is at best a ~50/50 Chicago even gets a player that will make their roster.
Re: TRADE: Cavs trade Andrew Bynum, picks to Bulls for Luol Deng
Cavs still got their first round and second picks this year. Cavs are set here.
Re: TRADE: Cavs trade Andrew Bynum, picks to Bulls for Luol Deng
So you're telling me that the Cavs gave up 3 or 4 picks to rent Luol Deng for half of season.
Not LeBron James, not Kevin Durant, but Luol Deng.
Cavs
2 second rounders and the kings pick could end up a second rounder and then an option to swap picks. So we maybe just have up 3 second round picks. Anyone who thinks cleveland hosed is just one of those people who think it's the in thing to make fun of the cavs. And we could resign him.
