Amazing how Justin Verlander won the Cy Young award unanimously at almost 40 years old :applause:
Also amazing how Ohtani finished 4th in the Cy Young voting and 2nd in the AL MVP voting. Best player in the league

Shohei would easily win AL MVP under normal circumstance. Judge's historic AL home run king just can't be denied.
AP: "Trevor Story had surgery on his throwing elbow and is expected to miss most -- if not all -- of this season, delaying the Boston Red Sox's plan to shift him across the infield to replace Xander Bogaerts at shortstop."
Andruw Jones really needs to make the HOF. How can the best defensive outfielder of his era, who also has 434 home runs, not be in?
AAA baseball teams will reportedly have robot umpires and electronic strike zones in 2023, per ESPN and other reports.
ABS, which is the Automatic Balls and Strikes system.
Trevor Bauer is a free agent. Nobody signed him off the waiver wire. So the Dodgers owe him over $22 million.
Andrew McCutchen will rejoin the Pittsburgh Pirates.
He won NL MVP in 2013. He's 36 now.
Scott Rolen only player elected to the 2023 HOF
Congrats to Scott Rolen.
Per ESPN.com: "In December, Fred McGriff was selected as the newest member of the Hall of Fame -- with Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and Curt Schilling denied again."
Scott Rolen only player elected to the 2023 HOF
People on the radio are fed up with the voting for the HOF and believe that Scott Rolen doesn't belong in the HOF compared to some of the others that were on the ballot.
I'd have to look up Rolen's #s compared to other HOFers.
Rolen was a nice player, but his numbers are nowhere near being close to some of the other guys on the ballot. This voting is getting ridiculous and comical.
Todd Helton, Gary Sheffield, and Jeff Kent all have better numbers than Rolen, and those guys can't get in apparently. And I think this was the last year of Kent's eligibility.
Sheffield is most egregious. Over 2600 hits and over 500 homeruns and he can't get in. He's also 30th all-time in RBI's where several players who have less RBI's than him are in the Hall.
There must be a standard. These writers are all biased as hell.

Sheffield was heavily linked to steroids.
Kent's offensive numbers were slightly better but he was an average second baseman and Rolen was a multiple Gold Glover at a more premium position. Plus he was a leader in the clubhouse and Kent was known to be a dick.
Helton is a strange one but I'm guessing the fact that he played his whole career in Colorado was factored in, plus he didn't play a premium defensive position at all.

Then that goes to my point of this voting being a farce. This is a popularity contest with no standards at all. So Sheffield and Kent were *****, but the Hall of Fame isn't about your personality, it's about your statistics.
