I love the trade but the potential bigger picture could be the Nuggets eventually trading Carmelo Anthony if he doesn't get it together(hopefully he will but this is strike 2) because he did cost the Nuggets organization $500,000 and probably the season (pre-trade) w/ "the sucker-punch" and add that to the FACT that they almost TRADED Carmelo to Seattle for Ray Allen 2 years ago. Just something to think about.

For sure man, he points might go down to 9-12

JR could possibly score 12ppg, less than that? Not a chance. Probably 15.

I just noticed that Philly had the 5th toughest schedule inthe NBA and Denver had the 29th. The second easiest schedule so far is Denver. That plus the suspensions could equal a real hard rest of the season. Expectations may not be met just yet.
Philly might have a little bump in record when they face all their bad teams. Denver stil has al ot of good teams to play. Only team who has played as many teams with bad records is the Cavs.

Sixers better keep on losing.

Carmelo Anthony, at 22 years old, is leading the NBA in scoring at 31.6 points per game. He could have stabbed Nate Robinson and they'd still keep him. He did not cost the team trhat half-mil by himself and brings in much more than that in revenue for the team anyway. And I for one have never heard of this Ray Allen trade. Unless you can link to a quote with George Karl or someone at his level in the organization saying that I don't believe a word of it.
Hold on a second. Here's a good excuse. There are better teams. You say yourself that you don't expect this team to make the Finals. If his team isn't expected to make the Finals, then he doesn't need an excuse to not reach the Finals more than once. Iverson has never been on a team that was a pre-season favorite to make it to the Finals. Therefore he has already exceeded expectations.
This has never stopped Kevin Garnett's critics.
AI will unfairly be tossed onto the "loser" pile with so many others who just weren't on team good enough to get it done.

Clearly you must have just started watching the NBA because any real NBA fan knows that before the trade deadline of the '04-'05 season that newly acquired head coach George Karl (combined w/ the negative reaction of the Stop Snitchin' DVD surrounding Carmelo Anthony(strike 1) AND Denver's 1st round exit in the playoffs v Spurs the previous year) felt that Denver (in addition to Kenyon Martin (pre-injury) not being involved much in the offense at the time)needed a proven shooter/scorer/good guy(a red-hot Ray Allen at the time)to make Denver a legit title contender. ESPN AND THEIR GAME BROADCASTERS (Greg Anthony,Legs ,etc.) discussed this a FEW times during that time period('04-'05). Also you are picturing Carmelo Anthony's game now ('06) as opposed to then ('04-'05) and evidently the Nuggets felt the same way about needing a shooter (enter JR Smith) for the 'chise because they felt Carmelo can take them only so far. Matters not if you believe it or not. TRUE FANS don't need links.
Also 500 grand is alot of money (any smart businessman knows this to be true) for an unnecessary sucker- punch (strike 2) and the Nuggets DO NOT sell-out games so the real revenue will be made w/ A.I.(BEST move Nuggets made) please believe it. TRUE FANS STILL DON'T NEED LINKS.

I think people are seriously over looking the impact of the suspension on this trade.
For all the talk of Iverson being a playmaker it will not happen for the next 14 games. Until Carmelo comes back Allen will actually be doing the same in Denver as he did in Philadelphia.
That means that when Melo does return he more than likely will be the guy that has to fit in, not Iverson.
Iverson is more established, has more experience, a bigger contract, and will have been the most important player on the team for a significant number of games.
With all that plus Iverson's career up to this point in mind I just don't see him handing the steering wheel to Carmelo one the suspension is up.

i disagree. it's not like allen will be the only good player on the team like he was in philly. he's got Camby, boykins, and some good roleplayers like najera and diawara.
besides, in this offense he won't be holding on to the ball the whole time. or at least he shouldn't be. mostly his duties will be to run the fast break after stops. i expect it will take him a couple of games to adjust but I don't see any long term problems after carmelo gets back.

that was bull**** espn started the rumor and espn discussed the rumor. theres a million things like that during the year. im sure george karl did mention it cause thats how he is. and im sure kiki did this... :oldlol:
any REAL fan knows enough that the espn guys are full of **** often, and that 75% of the rumors (at least) are just that, rumors. regardless of the discussion level.
