Titans had a beast oline in Henrys peak and here he is at his age 31 season averaging a half yard more than he ever did in his career prior and right now he's averaging what, 10 yards a carry? 9? For last night's game
Lamar Jackson is the single biggest reason for this. Henry would tell you that himself
You act is if Henry didn’t have a 2,000 yard season on over 5 yards per carry when he was on the Titans
Titans had arguably the worst O-line in 2023, despite that Henry still rushed for over 1,000 yards and had double digit touchdowns. Playing with Lamar and a better O-line makes it easier for him, but Henry isn’t just some regular RB. :lol
The way he takes care of himself with his diet and workouts is pretty known, and he didn’t really become a starter in this league until his 3rd year when he was already 24. He has less wear compared to other RBs his age.
He didn't quite have the wear and tear of Henry, but Tiki Barber legitimately peaked in his early 30's and scrapped his fumbling problem.
Tiki had 600 carries entering his age 27 season. Henry had more than that in two years......

That was an inside joke.
GOBB apparently likes to read books, which he admitted and we have it on file.
Nobody knew this prior, but it does give an insight to his psyche. Hes more sophisticated than any of us previously thought.

Less wear compared to others his age?
What?
He has 500 more carries than anyone in the league currently for their careers. His milage is above and beyond.

Zeke Elliot for example is around the same age as Henry, he had nearly 500 more carries than Henry in their first 6 years. And as Zeke got older he would come into camp out of shape at times, didn't take care of his body the same way Henry did.

Re: NFL Season 2025

Considering Lamar had a career year last season throwing for over 4100yds... you could easily make the argument that Derrick Henry is the reason for that happening and the threat he brings on offense. Much more open field for the WR to work with, easier for Lamar to find there open man

Henry = Elliott. They are built different.
List a few running backs that compare to Derrick Henry in size and style
lol
mean to say henry does not equal elliot
main point is while it’s true most running backs fade hard in late 20’s, henry is an outlier so you can’t compare him to other guys

It's very rare, Barber has been discussed.
Walter Payton was probably the best RB in the league from ages 30-32. Holmes had 27 TDs at age 30 and looked great at age 31 up until he got injured mid-season. Corey Dillion probably had his best season at age 30 with the Patriots. John Riggins had his best season at age 34, with rushing 24 TDs. Curtis Martin had his best season at age 31 when he rushed 1700 yards.

KC, Bills, Ravens..... all contenders.
but after that... I think Rodgers comes in at having the 4th best chance to get to the SB in the AFC, about even with Cincy... don't sleep on Rodgers this year.
Chargers might be a force....
I really need to go back and watch the Miami/Colts game to see what the hell happened there... Is Miami a garbage team now, or are the Colts improving?
I don't have any faith in Jacksonville... but it's still possible they could pull off a surprise. Same could be said for Denver & Houston.
week 1 Doomsday power rankings:
Tier 1: KC, Bills, Balt
Tier 2: Pitt, LAC, Cincy
Tier 3: Jax, Den, Hou
Tier 4: everyone else
