Could they make the playoffs without him would be a better question. Right now they aren't close with the moves Denver and Minnesota have made. Last place in the division looks likely. The wizard Lindsey! :rant

They shut him down last time because of a sprained ankle but yeah he should be the best player out there and they can concentrate on playing the young guys once he has. Definitely be bad for him if Mitchell, Goss or Wallace out play him

Why not make moves before to make it so he can't leave?
No moves if he leaves to stay relevant?
Even if they start the year in tax territory they can make moves later to get under it so they don't need to give picks away to get rid of Burks and Favors now. They already had to for Pleiss because his value was going to go up any.
Johnson should be the first guy to go to me but than I wouldn't have paid Ingles either.
Bogut is the perfect fit. Can't shoot either! :facepalm

He'd be a great fit for last year's team. Not sure what's going on now. Back in the 90's again I guess
some Jazz fans had hoped and dreamed that Utah could find a way to make the appropriate moves to welcome former fan favorite Paul Millsap back into their ranks. Unfortunately, such an idea was a long-shot to begin with and likely was never truly in the cards.
Hard for me to see him picking Denver over Utah if the Jazz offered him that contract and they could have if they weren't cheap.

Re: The 2017 off-season...Hayward, Hill, Ingles...?
Encouraging half for Dante. 3's off the dribble. A couple finishes and a great block at the rim.
Wallace looks bigger and better. He made a floater which was something he needed to work on.
Mitchell is definitely skilled. Showing a 3 ball. Getting used to the speed still with 4 fouls.
Bradley is a big kid. His shot looked decent.
Bolomboy is still too skinny and didn't look that good
Tokoto played well
No Goss? Hasn't signed his contract or they just wanted to give minutes to other guys and he'll play after Dante is shut down?
-
Re: The 2017 off-season...Hayward, Hill, Ingles...?
2 blocks for Bradley
Mitchell has already passed Dante. Locke was trying to say Hood would be playing but I'm not sure he'll last the year
Tokoto played a good game. Maybe he'll challenge for a 2 way deal
Griffin can fly!
had one of the best first summer league games of any player I've seen. Mitchell scored 23 points on 10-17 shooting, including 3-6 from that longer NBA 3-point line. He added five assists, and impressively for a rookie in the chaos of summer league, had no turnovers. He added two highlight-reel rebounds over the trees inside. It was an impressive offensive performance, and Mitchell looked like the best player on the floor, like he'll be ready for real NBA minutes from day one.
I'm thinking maybe the best for the Jazz since Deron's 2nd summer before they shut him down. They might want to shut him and Exum down and let Goss, Wallace, etc. play instead. Looks like he could be in the mix as a starter even. Should be a lot of competition at the 1 and 2. Need help up front still though. Bolomboy didn't do much
seeing new things out of Exum was promising, and it will be interesting to see how he compares to elite rookie guard prospects like Markelle Fultz of the Sixers.
More concerned on how he'll look compared to Neto, Mitchell, Hood, Burks, Ingles etc. Be gone by the trade deadline if he can't compete with them
It seemed like Raul Neto and Alec Burks were going to be the only Jazz players in attendance for the game, but at the very end, Rudy Gobert and new point guard Ricky Rubio came for the final three minutes of the contest.
Didn't show Alec. The public address announcer tld the crowd they were there and didn't even mention Neto. Give the kid some respect. He can play
The meeting went well, according to multiple media reports, and lasted about 3 and a half hours. That's shorter than Hayward's meeting with Boston and Miami, though both of those locations toured Hayward and wife Robyn around the city. That wasn't necessary with the Jazz's meeting, which took place at Hayward's home near San Diego.
They already know each other too. Shouldn't need as long
That Hood was also part of the pitch is notable too, and may mean that the Jazz view Hood as an important piece of their long-term future.
Might be because if they lost Hayward he probably will be. Otherwise I think he's got a lot to prove this year too. Could be gone by the trade deadline. If Exum can hit shots and defend he and Mitchell will be ahead of him for the future. Ingles already is. Burks is certainly comparable if healthy
I've heard that Gallinari represented a reasonable Plan B choice if Hayward decided to leave. But if "The Rooster" is off the market, it's not immediately clear what the Jazz's Plan C would be.
Ingles. Mitchell or Exum starts at the 2. Get a back-up center that can play some 4 when Favors gets dealt. Or a 4 that can play some 5 though I was hoping Bolomboy would be ready for some rotation minutes. None of the top back-up bigs have been signed. Go all in there. Trade Johnson and Diaw. That's what I'd look to do. Fill out the roster with some good end of the bench vets. Might be able to take on some contracts too with cap space. After December look to deal some of the guys that could be gone after the season depending on how things are going. Favors, Hood, Exum, Neto, etc.
