Re: 2007 Cavaliers vs Pistons - ECF GM 5
Dwight's closeout game over the 09' Cavs was similar to lebron's carry-job in ‘07
No it wasn’t. Lebron scored 29 of his teams last 30 points and hit 4-5 huge shots in that span.
The cavs gained back home court in a crucial game 5 on the road. Dwight closed out a game 6 at home.
The only similarity is that they both had statistically huge games. Completely different scenarios and type of game.

I'm talking about the series as a whole being a big upset victory for Dwight (+700) and carry-job to the Finals with a marginal cast, just like Lebron's 07' run (and would-be 09' run).. Lebron ceded the carry-job to Dwight.
Yes, some of the details are different, but that's the basic story - a big upset win while carrying a team to the Finals, just like AI and Kidd before them.. if you were a great player in the East around that time, you probably carried your team to the Finals.
Lebron's run simply gets overrated, even though his stats and domination weren't better than Dwight's or AI's..
And since a strong team wasn't needed to win the conference, lebron should get knocked for ceding an easy run to Dwight's weak cast in 09', and then forming strong cast to ensure Finals runs from 11-18'

No one but you is talking about the run in general. This thread was about game 5. Which was a legendary performance.
Then you compared dwights game 6 to it.

Honestly though no lie, this was truly impressive vs a post-prime Pistons squad with no Ben :applause:
