looks like the west teams are finally making moves to get better.
all west contenders should be looking to stack up on big guys that can defend to counter LA.

Bobcats got owned so bad. Dampier's contract does give Cats cat relief, but they took on Carroll and Najera? :hammerhead:
This is an awful awful trade for the Cats. They didn't even get a PG in the deal, which they need badly.
Beautiful work by the Mavs.
Cats really clear 10 million by cutting Damp? how does that work exactly?
It's actually not that much. They don't even save a ton, they send out about $15.1, bring in 20.3. Cut Damp's 13 and it's 15.1 out and 7.2 in, but 3 of that coming in is via trade exception so it's actually 10.2 worth of salary added. So they saved about 5 million. If everyone follows all that.
Dumbass trade.

his contract is non guaranteed. so when you acquire him, you can choose to keep him (pay him the $12 million) or cut him (pay him $2 million and he is FA).
WTF, MJ?
Horrible trade. Yeah, Dampier's contract is non-guaranteed (although they need him), but they just took on Matt Carroll and Najera. Awful. And gave up a young big man in Ajinca.
Good deal for the Mavs.
Not so sure for the Bobcats. Matt Carroll didn't fit the first time under Larry Brown(which is why he got dealt) so not sure if they keep him or buy him out.
Its crazy how he went from key role player in Charlotte to barely playing in Dallas.

Wow horrible trade for the Fighting Michael Jordans. Why would they give up Ajinca, who has some promise, and get back Carroll!
If I were the Cats, I would have held out for the Beaubois guy or whatever his name is. They need a future PG.
My god, this trade is bad. :lol
How many times has Carroll played for the Cats now? Twice on the same contract?
:wtf: I was glad that MJ backed out of the Calderon deal but this is even worse. Now we have no starting 1 and we're short on quality bigs.
Matt Carroll was good for us for one season. Maybe he can do it again?:oldlol:

Najera isn't that bad. Hes ideal for Larry Brown's system as a reserve SF.
Matt Carroll is the bad acquisition, espescially if Larry Brown still wont give him PT.
Hopefully Charlotte got 1 or 2 1st rounders out of this deal.
Perhaps the Cats have a trade in mind for Dampier?

Ajinca is soft. He'll join his fellow Frenchman Ian Mahimi collecting DNP's next season.
The French Fries.

The Mav's high twenties 1st rounders would not be that much consolation to this deal.
