do u have the game when Boozer had 40 points?
Re: 2007 First Round Game 7 - Jazz (103) @ Rockets (99) - Youtube (fullgame)
Outside of Yao, T-Mac, and Shane, no one really contributed. Main reason why they lost.
a top 3 or whatever defense in the NBA and 2 guys that were putting up 25ppg should be good enough to beat the Jazz.

Agreed. It's not like the Jazz were the #1 seed or something. Rockets had HCA and from below had a higher SRS and higher PPG differential and better W-L differential.
Rockets 2007
PTS/G: 97.0 (17th of 30) ? Opp PTS/G: 92.1 (3rd of 30)
SRS: 5.04 (4th of 30) ? Pace: 90.7 (21st of 30)
Off Rtg: 106.0 (15th of 30) ? Def Rtg: 100.7 (3rd of 30)
Expected W-L: 55-27 (5th of 30)
Jazz 2007
PTS/G: 101.5 (7th of 30) ? Opp PTS/G: 98.6 (17th of 30)
SRS: 3.06 (8th of 30) ? Pace: 91.6 (15th of 30)
Off Rtg: 110.1 (3rd of 30) ? Def Rtg: 107.0 (18th of 30)
Expected W-L: 49-33 (8th of 30)
the 2008 series is a different story as the Jazz had the higher SRS rating and better expected W-L ratio.

Not to mention that Houston was 30-10 with both Yao and T-Mac in the lineup which is a 61-62 win pace.

And more importantly, Yao was out for the season by that point and T-Mac's decline had continued that season.
Despite half of their winning streak coming without Yao, I didn't expect Houston to beat Utah with Yao out.

This wasn't even T-Mac IMO. A shell of himself in many ways, and now he's declined even more.

I didn't think they would win either, but I think they could have won.

like i said the jazz were just a tough matchup for the rockets because yao could not guard boozer or okur on D and failed to dominate them on the offensive end.
the reason the 08 team actually had a good chance was because they had mutumbo in there who was still much better defensively than yao despite his old age. the big reason they lost though was because skip was injured the first two games in the series (which the rockets lost), then again the 2nd half of game 6. healthy skip would have given them enough to pull the upset.

Which is interesting because you would think that having Jackson start would actually help them not hurt them.

2007 Tmac was the best Tmac in Houston.

The only other Tmac was 2005 Tmac. 2006 he was hurt and 2008 he wasn't as good.

How many players score big playing for Jeff Van Gundy anyway.
Tmac was still good enough to average like 27ppg on a bad team so just admit that dude fucked up.

That team would have won it all with 07 Kobe and with T-Wack they can't even get past the first round. Typical T-wack.
