Re: Breaking news - NEW SPECIES OF HUMAN!
 really hope that original post was meant to be facetious
i'm not going to write a thesis on this, but i always argued this...evolution doesn't work that way. even if you take the sport of basketball as a microcosm, it doesn't make much sense. it's not a 20 year old sport or business and doesn't fall under accelerated sports evolution.
that's why i can understand the mma argument on the same subject. more people are becoming aware of it. more gyms, facilities, knowledge and trainers are becoming involved. athletes are transitioning into it instead of it just being a niche specialty that you either grew up with or attempted to transition into late. now, young people are participating in the full scope of mma instead of just focusing on one area (if they have that drive/passion/foresight)
take a look at the NFL. they also loosened their defensive rules and look what we got....QB's putting up HOF numbers and smashing records, even early in their career. unitas' completion % looks like crap in comparison, but unitas had to deal with cheap shots, less pads, more bump and running/jamming, less defensive penalties, roofless arenas and secondary players that could outright push and shove receivers and lay them out at any point after the ball was snapped. that said, jerry rice would be a beast in any era, just as calvin johnson would be
ok, getting off topic here. the point is, the argument doesn't work in the vacuum of basketball. you guys are not seeing some super athlete that evolved over the past 10 years. you just aren't. maybe HD and slo-mo have you fooled but the different isn't significant at all. btw smarts, fundamentals and heart are timeless
and well played LF, i see your cap and i raise you:

I heard on 60 minutes that Jordan's homoathleticus hostility toward Reggie Miller was more than an interhuman encounter but something beyond that - And this was before this info got out. I also peeped how ungrateful his HOF speech was... like he couldn't give props to homo sapiens... I also notice that refs tended to give him calls other humans couldn't get. Jus sayin.

Re: Breaking news - NEW SPECIES OF HUMAN!
Why does this thread have such a bad rating? It's calling out a dumbass for saying stupid shit; it's humorous; it even has a graphic (that's dedication).
Quality thread.

Most idiots dont know that everyday the radiation from the sun advances all DNA it touches. Its a slow ass process, but the sun is what is causing this human evolution and it will continue. One day, we probally will see a 7 footer with the game of a guard, hell, Durant is close enough. The crazy part is, basketball makes the evolution the most visible out of all sports.
