Wade is/was quicker changing directions and has better footwork. And he has the better handle, allowing him to cross people up and do more moves than Lebron.

But Lebron was faster exploding from point A to point B in a straight line. That's what he is/was known for and since he has somewhat lost that ability, it is why some people say he was better circa 2008-2010 than he is now.

Wade most certainly was quicker at getting to the ring. Lebron might have a better top end speed, but you are seriously underrating how quick Wade is. The one thing my friend said once coming back from a Cleveland-Miami game when Lebron and Wade were on separate teams was how quick Wade was. He knew he was fast, but he couldn't believe how quickly he covered the court once he saw him live.

I think we are just talking about different things.

I'm specifically just speaking of Lebron dribbling the ball out on the perimeter at point A, and then exploding in a straight line the hoop (of course with a few cross overs or hesitation dribbles before that to give Lebron the space and angle needed to explode past the defender).

IDK guys...younger LeBron was insanely fast. There were times he would just run in a straight line and still get past his defenders and to the rim. Insane:eek:

I think the best at "taking it to the hole" are Wade , Rose and AI. The rest of the players are debatable.

U got an epic list there! U listed some iconic slashers who could collapse a defense and alter it. And those guys could take it into the trees and get fouled, score two points, or get a three point play. U made special mention of the Doc and rightfully so. Had those huge ass hands to go with his freakish athletic ability. I think Doc and MJ had the best mitts of the guys u listed. U can tell even by their layups that they were unique, even amongst other epic slashers.

And Wade is ofter compared to MJ and I see that. But in terms of size and slashing, Wade needs to also be compared to David Thompson. I see a lot of similarities between Thompson and Wade scoring wise. Probably even moreso than Wade to MJ. And in terms of stopping and planting in one spot and exploding off vertical, Nique and Vince are the cream of the crop. They could get deeper in the paint and just explode in a manner that was SICK!

That I've seen, Derrick Rose is the hardest player to stay in front of. Or used to be..

Still Wade IMO. I think its quite clear too.

Lebron might have a slight edge in end to end speed on the court. In the half court off a few steps though, Wade.

No doubt! Also don't forget about Drexler, going coast to coast for the basket, with ease, was his bread n butter.

Thats true.As a perimeter player i dont think we have ever seen any superstar wing take so many of his shots from inside.

With that said,i wouldnt call it lebron a slasher.He is not even in my top 5 today.
Lebron generally overpowers his opponents and because of his speed not quickness he maybe the best fastbreak player we have ever seen.This is why he always tops the league in paint points as a wing

My little friend if you really think kobe is #2.I mean come on even there is a limit to dckriding.I distinctly remember you saying he is scoring the way he is because of his jumper not his slashing ability.He was certainly good in his prime but come on.I can name you 5 players of the top of my head
