OK. So authorizes airstrikes is correct.

However, it doesn't seem we are trying to roll back ISIS and no bombing is occurring yet

There seem to have been a lot of reports earlier that say bombings have started but the Pentagon has been pushing back on it.

I just clicked a NY Times headline in Google News from 5 hours ago, the headline was Airstrikes Are Underway in Iraq.

Now if you go to the story, the headline is changed

I did not like the thought of military action in Iraq, I thought that the U.S. should have stayed out completely but after seeing what ISIS has been doing, the utterly unspeakable atrocities they've been committing, beheading little kids, mass murder and torture, pure genocide against anyone that isn't an ass backwards 7th century fundamentalist nutjob, things that would make a Nazi blush makes me say **** these people.

Obama needs to get some balls..what a freaking weak President he is. I'm glad he's going to help these people stuck on that mountain. You can't allow a group of people to be eradicated..men, women, and children. When an American President is weak..the bad guys go buck wild. Iraq is actually surrounded mostly by land instead of being near the ocean.

talk about some strategical advantages if we were just able to convince to others that these ISIS are so darn extreme and deadly.

After reading some stories and comments about this, it seems we are going to protect the Kurds and Yazidi's under threat, but we will not intervene fully until Maliki is replaced and there is a new government. Check out what Hagel says below. Gen Petraeus last month said we shouldn't intervene in a way that makes us the "Shia Air Force."
