Anyway, can anyone find a link saying it's US forces doing the bombing, because the later reports say it was Turkish forces.
There is many links online.

OK. So authorizes airstrikes is correct.
However, it doesn't seem we are trying to roll back ISIS and no bombing is occurring yet
This is about future airstrikes. It's a warning to ISIS if they try to move on Ibril where there are US Personnel.
President Obama authorized possible airstrikes against Sunni Muslim extremists who punctured Kurdish defenses in a powerful offensive in northern Iraq.
Obama, in a late-night statement delivered at the White House, said that strikes would be launched against extremist convoys “should they move toward” the Kurdish capital of Irbil. “We intend to take action if they threaten our facilities anywhere in Iraq . . . including Irbil and Baghdad,” he said.
There seem to have been a lot of reports earlier that say bombings have started but the Pentagon has been pushing back on it.
I just clicked a NY Times headline in Google News from 5 hours ago, the headline was Airstrikes Are Underway in Iraq.
Now if you go to the story, the headline is changed
Obama Allows Limited Airstrikes on ISIS
They literally updated the story a few minutes ago.
However, they are reports of Turkey actually dropping bombs. Perhaps that's a cover story since Turkey has F-16 too.
Wipe ISIS off the face of the Earth.

:applause:
Politico noted that the NY Times changed their headline and rewrote their story several times today after the Pentagon denied it.
The Pentagon on Thursday disputed reports from The New York Times and McClatchy stating that, according to Kurdish officials, American military forces had bombed at least two targets in northern Iraq.
"Press reports that US has conducted airstrikes in Iraq completely false. No such action taken," Pentagon Press Secretary Rear Adm. John Kirby tweeted late Thursday afternoon, shortly after the Times published its report.
The Times report stated that "word of the bombings, reported on Kurdish television from the city of Erbil, came as President Obama was preparing to make a statement in Washington."
The McClatchy report stated that "Kurdish television reported that the bombers were American," but added that there "was no confirmation from U.S. officials in Washington."
UPDATE (6:00 p.m.): The Times changed its headline from "American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq" to "Militants in Iraq Hit by Strikes, Kurds Say." The copy, which suggests that the bombing was down by American forces, remained the same.
UPDATE (6:23 p.m.): The Times again changes its headline, this time to "Airstrikes on ISIS Militants Have Begun, Kurds and Iraqis Say," and changed the body of the text.
So that's at least three headlines on the story
"You're startling me with the severity of what you're describing," the CNN host said. "You said they are --- beheading children?"

pure evil.
To fight off ISIS this was long overdue what took so long:biggums:
I did not like the thought of military action in Iraq, I thought that the U.S. should have stayed out completely but after seeing what ISIS has been doing, the utterly unspeakable atrocities they've been committing, beheading little kids, mass murder and torture, pure genocide against anyone that isn't an ass backwards 7th century fundamentalist nutjob, things that would make a Nazi blush makes me say **** these people.
If Obama wants to bomb them into oblivion, he's got my support.
I personally would pay An extra 500 dollars in tax just to go towards missles That will kill these extremists
Obama needs to get some balls..what a freaking weak President he is. I'm glad he's going to help these people stuck on that mountain. You can't allow a group of people to be eradicated..men, women, and children. When an American President is weak..the bad guys go buck wild. That's what is happening now with the Middle East, Russia, China, etc.

War monger! You probably hate women too. Racist prick!
should we tell the allies that if they don't fight these ISIS group off, they are next to be gone?
Iraq is actually surrounded mostly by land instead of being near the ocean.
talk about some strategical advantages if we were just able to convince to others that these ISIS are so darn extreme and deadly.
After reading some stories and comments about this, it seems we are going to protect the Kurds and Yazidi's under threat, but we will not intervene fully until Maliki is replaced and there is a new government. Check out what Hagel says below. Gen Petraeus last month said we shouldn't intervene in a way that makes us the "Shia Air Force."
The official stressed that Obama
Has he signed off on any drone strikes? Obama loves those. :oldlol:
