Re: Has Lebron set the precedent for the next type of free agent moves for superstars?
Like Cleveland didn't do the same thing to LeBron for 7 years?
So It's Clevelands fault that LeBron made a bunch of promises he couldn't keep and then attention whored on his way out?
And what about Miami?

A starting lineup of Mo Williams, Delonte West, Varejao and old Shaq/Big Z is legitimate championship material? How have they done in LeBron's 4 year absence?

First off, a shitty team doesn't win 60+ games. Spin it all you want, sorry, it doesn't happen.
Second, I wasn't aware that the same team that surrounded Lebron was kept intact once he left town.

Did LeBron have a single teammate that was even a top 20-25 player in the NBA in 09-10?
Re: Has Lebron set the precedent for the next type of free agent moves for superstars?
It's crazy to see these fans get upset about a player choosing which team he wants to play for after his contract is up, but these same fans don't give a shit about when a team trades a player or cuts a player. It's about time the players treat these organizations the same way they have been treated all these years. I hope more players are in control of their careers and stop letting someone else dictate it for them.

He had two during his time on the Heat and only had one 60+ season. Explain that.

Other than the Spurs, every team played against the Heat every game like it was a championship game. That's really the only reason that I can think of. If teams really game planned for those Cavs in the regular season, they wouldn't have sniffed 60 wins. That 1 man army shit doesn't work in the playoffs unless you're a center.

exactly, and he made it to the finals every season. winning 60 games don't prove anything.
I think it a pretty well known and accepted by the large mass that those Cleveland teams were bad. I have no idea what you guys are debating.

They also won 2 titles and went to 4 straight Finals
I agree. Players who take all the money arent somehow...worse people. Or less worthy of respect.
I ask only one thing...
Dont take all the money and release statements talking about winning.
Guy like Kobe takes a massive deal on the decline.....**** it. Lakers had it to spend. He makes them more money than they can pay him back. Hes a man looking to setup generational dynasty money...for the future of his family.
Fine by me.
Take all the money.
Just dont BS me and talk about winning.
You cant take 50 million at his age...coming off your first major injury...on a team that was already just average...and then claim to care more about winning than anything else.
You knowingly make it less likely your team can contend over several years....in return for the most money you can get....on a team trying to rebuild....
You arent about winning first.
Dont claim otherwise and I have no issue with anyone taking all the money they can get.
OT, but its insane how every team lebron goes to, they're expected to win a championship. hell, even with the pathetic group he carried to finals in 2007, they were championship or bust.
GOAT gonna GOAT

What Lebron did isn't really new, a ton of players have been doing it over the years. It's just degrading because he's the best player in the league and people usually expect big name players to bring other players to him without switching teams himself.
