That's a stupid fkin bet. Every sports book has the net over under total wins between 41-42 wins for the season, when the 8th seed in the east has historically been under .500 for over a decade. Why wouldn't someone just bet the under on total wins?
Your line would have to be nets to miss playoffs at like +140 to be worth a damn. So stop trying to act like a big shot when you're offering -EV wagers.

Except I'm not making a Vegas bet, I'm offering to make a bet with posters on here, many of which say the Nets won't make the playoffs. It's up to them to make the bet if they want.

That's why I want to screen the applicant some.
Ideally, a trusted poster or mod would hold the money on both sides and pay out at the end.

That's up to them. I'm singling out those who specifically say the Nets will not make it. Meanwhile their win total put them at the 7 seed just ahead of Atlanta and NY, so it's not exactly a sure thing they make the playoffs.
