Re: Lakers TV viewership down 28% this year
Not surprise at all. People are cord cutting.
TWC just send me a bill that they'll start charging me $2.75 for "sports programming surcharge. which is "defrays the increased costs imposed by sports programmers." I have no clue what that means but it looks like another for cable companies to nickle and dime every penny.
I would cut TWC but it's the only available ISP in my area. Verizon FIOS isn't even available.

Nielsen ratings for the Lakers in the Los Angeles market were down double digits percentage-wise over their first 20 games versus the same period last season.
The Lakers averaged a 2.25 rating for those games on Time Warner Cable SportsNet, down 28% from the 3.14 at the start of last season.
The Lakers' ratings are near the historic low of 2.11 they averaged all of last season, the worst on record for local Lakers telecasts and a 54% drop from the 2012-13 season, when they averaged a 4.63.
The Lakers are in the third year of their 25-year, $5-billion contract with TWC.

So they got the same deal as Kobe.......
Re: Lakers TV viewership down 28% this year
I haven't watched many Laker games this year.
I mean, it's a wasted season.
No Randle
No lottery pick (goes to PHX)
Team sucks
Re: Lakers TV viewership down 28% this year
I thought that's why they paid Kobe the big bucks?
They actually were a better team with better tv-ratings without him

Hmm, the article here says last year was their lowest ratings ever. Did you happen to read a different article?
