The defense Curry faces is like flag football by comparison - no touch, hands-off, league-mandated space between players on perimeter:

No comparison
Curry is the offensive GOAT by a long shot with defense factored in as well.
A player cannot be greater based solely on true shooting - in almost EVERY other category, Curry is inferior:
Jordan 1991 (20 games): 32.5 ppg.. 6.6 rpg.. 5.8 apg.. 2.7 spg.. 1.4 bpg.. 56.6 fg.. 63.3 ts.. 131 ortg
Curry. 2016 (20 games): 32.0 ppg.. 5.1 rpg.. 6.0 apg.. 2.4 spg.. 0.2 bpg.. 52.4 fg.. 70.0 ts.. 128 ortg
MJ even had higher ORtg, or points-per-possession, which is the real efficiency measure (unbiased by free throw or 3-point frequency).
And if MJ got the same league-mandated space on the perimeter that Curry enjoys, he'd score 100 points today, as many have said including Phil Jackson, Larry Brown, and many more.. Kobe almost did it under these soft rules.

3Ball ethering fools again.
It is undeniable that modern basketball is flag football compared to 90s basketball.
Quite literally touch rules, you can't touch, we're pre-NBA in this softness, back to James Naismith teaching high school girls.
curry is special right now and i watched damn near every jordan game from 1990 - 1998 and i collected all the basketball cards ect.. i was a real hardcore fan. all i did was fish and watch basketball when i was a teen.
BUT they are 2 different swords Jordan was a fadeaway EXPERT i know alot of the highlights people see is jordan dunking ect.
Thats because they refuse to watch the The Legend Of the Greatest video...That's all anyone needs for all things MJ....

this is awful defense for one
for two even if that was a good defender and they tried to do that to steph curry...
steph curry deadlifts 400+ pounds (http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on-basketball/25207008/stephen-curry-can-deadlift-400-pounds)
if that skinny ass ngga put his hand on currys hip, he would take a fuccing dip
curry would drive that slim jim all the way to the bank, does not have the lower body strength to handle curry, that is saying if he doesn't beat him off the dribble. from the speed of that gif I hope it isn't slowed down or anything because the foot speed looks awful
Curry is the offensive GOAT by a long shot and if he plays at this level for the rest of the season it will be the Greatest Season Of All Time, better than Jordans, with defense factored in as well.
Shit like this is gonna have people hating Curry....
Re: No seriously... This is a foul
The only category Curry beats MJ is true shooting - you can't say Curry is greater just based on that.
MJ is greater in virtually every other category, including ppg, rpg, apg, spg, bpg.
And his best months had higher ORtg, or points-per-possession, which is the real efficiency measure (unbiased by free throw or 3-point frequency).

You're exaggerating the difference so much that it seems likely you never watched the 90s and just believe the mainstream stories

Exaggerating is when people make it out like people got mugged driving to the hoops all the time in the 90s that was Bad Boy Pistons and 80s goon ball, but this here is exactly the difference between modern game and 90s game.
Basketball today on the perimeter is No-Touch No-Contact AT ALL.
The major difference is that bball used to be a contact sport, contact was accepted as an inevitable part of the game, you could have contact without a foul being called either way. Today when there is contact, except on post game, you automatically have a foul offensive or defensive.
You never see that belly on perimeter player defense anymore. Pippen and Payton would foul out in a quarter today. Handcheck like what 3ball posted is just the obvious example, but getting real close isn't allowed anymore.
The Heat got away with it in 12 and 13 because of ref help and they had exactly that swarming perimeter D that you saw in the 90s and it makes a world of difference for perimeter players.

You are correct in saying perimeter defense is limited in contact nowadays, especially in standstill (there is still a decent amount of contact on drives), however saying it is "flag football" is just stupid.
Re: No seriously... This is a foul
3ball is correct on this one. Today's game is reffed in a completely pathetic way. The offensive player has every advantage compared to in the past where the defensive player at least had some liberty. The refs are horrible at calling blocked shots in today's game as well. In the beginning of the season, I've seen about 50% clean blocked shots that were called fouls. We're at an all time low in quality refs.
