kobe never cared about total points. if he did he wouldn't have retired at age 36. he coulda hung around averaging 17-20ppg till age 40 even on one leg


he could have returned and played the last month or 2 of 2014 and 2015... he let the lakers deactivate him like how they tried to deactivate lebron


he refused because he cares more about stats than being 100% next year or the lakers younger players getting more experience/time to grow

b) shows how inflated todays statistics are




if lebron was on a massive decline offensively then his fans could say his teams struggles are mostly due to his age/mileage


yet hes still producing ... but they still lose and his team is no better off from it


hence the empty stat argument. i've been saying forever his assists stagnate his offenses and his rebounds are at the detriment to their defense
