Re: Harden is averaging almost 40ppg
Who cares - Harden wouldn't be shit without teammates spreading the floor with 30 threes a game
He'd be nothing if his teammates attempted basically zero threes a game and there was no spacing like MJ's teammates in 1987
Seriously, how many ppg for Harden if he has no spacing and hand-checking.... It's night and day obviously... A totally different sport
MJ wouldn

Sorry wheels. You already said that Lebron was 11th all time.
Re: Harden is averaging almost 40ppg

Re: Harden is averaging almost 40ppg
Based on?
Better athletes is him just throwing it out there, really hard to prove. Better shooting is easy to show. The much higher volume of attempts is on a higher percentage(I think)
Re: Harden is averaging almost 40ppg
players nowadays are just too skilled, too athletic and too good to be stopped on a regular basis...it's very unlike your basic 90's, when you had milkmen and plodding plumbers acting as a pillars on the defensive end and having your local malnourished accountant Hornacek putting up 10 ppg in the finals as a second option lol...

This post is ridiculously uniformed..the dream team era had some of the most skilled players the gm has ever seen. The gm has changed with the rules much like football to a softer easier time for offense to flourish. Harden also is semi manufactured as can be seen once playoffs start and refs aren

Here's a clip of Steve Nash, a guy who played from 1997 to 2014 and won two MVP's in 2006 and 07 thanks to the rule changes the NBA put in, breaking it down to a basic level and confirming how people like David Stern, Rob Thorn and Jerry Colangelo to name a few altered all the defensive rules from the late 90's to the mid 2000's to prop up the mid 90's and onward crop of flawed fundamentals, IQ deficient and AAU poisoned perimeter players who couldn't shoot above 45% FG if their life depended on it thanks to playing basketball concentrating on their athleticism above everything else. Fast forward to minute 14:38:

Here's the excerpt:
Steve Nash says about Grant Hill and the old school game "It was a different game then. They could put two hands on you, they could forearm you, they could knock you down, it was SUPER PHYSICAL and for him to be able to do it in an era where there were less possessions and it was LIKE WRESTLING out there!!!
Bill Simmons: "And then David Stern CHANGED THE RULES so you could succeed, you were the IMPETUS!!!"
Steve Nash: "Laughs! Changed my career. It think David Stern saw me and said this poor kid, if they can put their hands on him HE'S COOKED!!!"
LOL! Harden, Curry, Dumbrook, Durant and yes even LeBald are ALL products of the NBA rule enhanced agenda and here is a two-time MVP basically blowing the lid off that "secret".
Anything that has happened beyond 2005 (when the league finally outlawed physical defense after the Pistons, Spurs and Pacers dominated for 3 straight years) is a fabrication.

Imagine actually believing this. :oldlol: :oldlol:
Stick to your VHS tapes, bud. The rest of us will be over here, you know, evolving and shit.
Re: Harden is averaging almost 40ppg
Well here is Kobe and some other notable stars that BELIEVE in what Steve Nash is saying:

Here's the master Hubie Brown throwing more dirt on the modern NBA fraud. Here's a guy that continues to get paid to cover the NBA and has spent a lifetime coaching and analyzing it and knows how ridiculously dumbed down it has become:

Basically debating with "modern" NBA fans reminds me off when I was 10 years old and hearing lonely geeks arguing until their eyes popped out on how the WWF was a REAL SPORT!!! LOL!
The modern NBA is a dumbed down farce where the poisonous AAU has gained control of player development and forced the NBA to come up with rules to make them look better than they actually are.
Here's Steve Kerr reinforcing the point when talking about drafting Stephy Curry:

except by the likes of france, serbia and australia. :lol
celtics = best record in the league, 114 ppg
celtics & other teams' stars in 90s style fiba = can't beat full time farmers from eastern europe, barely average 85 ppg
:yaohappy:
Re: Harden is averaging almost 40ppg
it had some skilled players but the talent is spread over far wider ground today
lemme put it this way - top '90s guys would probably still be pretty good today... but the 3rd, 4th, 5th best players on '90s teams would be moved to the positions of 10, 11 and 12 in today's game
AI would average 30+ ppg in today
Re: Harden is averaging almost 40ppg
Amazing really how fans dont seem to give a damn and their opinion is justified...
This guy should be as popular as Jordan, Kobe, or Lebron but our great fans see through the BS. The traveling, flopping, disgrace to the game cant even draw big numbers for TV games yet he is scoring at a clip higher than MJ :lol
Its a shame really and he has no one to blame but himself
Re: Harden is averaging almost 40ppg
Eras change as do rules
exactly. are there people who actually think that the beard, at 30 years old is bigger, stronger, and more athletic than he was at say 25 or 26? dude is just taking the fullest advantage of the nba's 'freedom of movement' rules of the past 2-3 seasons.
it's why nba stars get exposed badly when playing under fiba rules, which are much closer to what the nba was early '00s rule changes. no 3 sec rule, more physical, half court oriented, slow paced.
the greek freak was mvp last season, put up monster numbers... then he played in the world cup.
Why was the best player in the world last season so ordinary in a signature international tournament? There are many answers to this question, but they all revolved around the same theme: [B]Antetokounmpo just isn
Re: Harden is averaging almost 40ppg
lol at people acting like Harden wouldn't absolutely dominate in an era with no zone defense and the likes of Craig Ehlo and Jeff "the beast" Hornacek guarding you every night :oldlol:
