Re: It's Official, Bronny James is a Bonafide Scrub
to be fair what player did the Lakers miss out on with the 55th pick of the draft?
You will need at least a year to answer that question and someone could emerge even further in the future than that. Most likely the 55th pick doesn't get a team a good player but more importantly he is taking a roster spot. Without a buy out he is taking up a space that could be used on a more talented and/or better player.
It also makes it glaringly and undeniably obvious who is really in charge. I don't know what value is to be assigned to a franchise potentially being humiliated but with all the attention they seem to be welcoming to focus on a player that isn't ready for NBA competition people in authority are likely to look weak and/or foolish. Don't let LA have another year where they're struggling to make the playoffs and all the attention is being focused on this guy that doesn't have a fully-formed game.

true, their draft pick was fine. 55 is a low pick indeed. the real issue is that they haven't made any roster moves for two years in a row
they will always have a shot with lebron and AD but their roleplayers have been putrid since 2020 when they were excellent
they gave up all their depth for westbrook a few years ago and have been a shitshow since - they desperately needed to plug that hole THIS SUMMER with demar, who was available but now they are cooked
not only did they miss out on the exact player they need, they lost him to an up-and-coming rival in the kings - its gonna hurt when he's ripping out their heart in the 4th quarter 4 times a year
Re: It's Official, Bronny James is a Bonafide Scrub
I feel for the kid. There comes a point where you realize that you just don't belong here. He doesn't belong right now. Yes, I have watched more than just highlights, 2 full games, and this is just summer league and he doesn't belong. Still, I like what Iman Shumpert once said about the very best WNBA prospect. He said, "give her 4 years on a roster with consistency and she will be able to hang". Keep Bronny on a guaranteed contract for 4 years and by the end of it I am confident that he will hang with these guys... if he doesn't get traded or have a mental collapse under the pressure.
Re: It's Official, Bronny James is a Bonafide Scrub
Any other draftees not living up to your expectations, fellas? Oh, nevermind you haven't been watching them and probably don't even know who most of them are anyway.
Carry on, casuals/sheep.
Re: It's Official, Bronny James is a Bonafide Scrub
He sucks, but so do most of the second rounders every year. Obviously only got the contract cause of letiny
Shit even the majority of the first rounders are total ass this year..

Thing is he's not just in a shooting slump, he looks like he shouldn't be out there at all. That's a problem when you give the bum a guaranteed contract and are doing the whole father/son make-a-wish bullshit on a team that's not a contender. Lakers are stuck in the middle.

That 4 years, $7.9 Million is guaranteed. :facepalm
compare this to 1992-1998 Pippen making 7 years $19 million for his contribution.
No wonder NBA is dying a fast death in terms of ratings and skills and talent and competitiveness.
There are more young'uns turning to Soccer than NBA now. Finding that more competitive and nicer alternative.
17 YO Yamal will become more of a role model than even Ant Man in future, thanks to Nepo Heart Attack Kid as Ant Man's competition.
Re: It's Official, Bronny James is a Bonafide Scrub
2 mil per year is nothing for an NBA team. The important thing is if he takes a roster spot, which he will.

Some notable second round picks:
Nikola Jokic (41)
Trevor Ariza (44)
Paul Millsap(47)
Marc Gasol(48)
Goran Dragic(45)
Pat Beverley(42)
Patty Mills(55)
Draymond Green(35)
Khris Middleton(39)
Jae Crowder(34)
If Nikola ****ing Jokic can go as low as 41, you really should be gunning with your 55th pick and trying to get the absolute best talent possible.
You gotta think about the talent pool of the world as far as basketball at this point. There's more competition than ever. Some literal GOATs will slip through the cracks because there's so many players and only so much attention they can get.

That’s a bad example.. a handful of players in the last 20 years:lol
Most second rounders don’t even make the team or stay in the league long at all.
But as far as bronnie is concerned, he doesn’t belong in the nba. Come on, he’s undersized, can’t shoot, doesn’t even understand the game by the looks of it.
If you can’t see the nba is just the WWE by now then nothing will wake people up.
All the “analysts” saying the same garbage, it’s scripted dribble.
Can’t wait till letiny retires, enough of this rubbish

If the NBA is scripted why isn't Bronny a good player?

There's more names. Those are just the best. Isaiah Hartenstein, Spencer Dinwiddie, Norman Powell, Montrezl Harrell, Will Barton, Chandler Parsons, Lance Stephenson, Hassan Whiteside. If you go through the every draft the past 15 years, there's at least two career quality role players plus a couple guys who are quality that go undrafted. Every single year.
The worst second round I can find is 2016's, where Malcom Brogdon went really early at 36 but that same year Fred Van Vleet, a future all-star went undrafted.
Shake Milton has had at least a dozen of good playoff games in his career so far, he went #54. The pick is inexcusable.
Alex Caruso AND Alex Reaves both went undrafted. They're the two best guards the Lakers have had the past 9 or 10 years.
Aaron Wiggins on OKC is a good player already in 3 years. Could easily help win OKC a title this year. He was #55 in 2021. Again, inexcusable.
Re: It's Official, Bronny James is a Bonafide Scrub
Leading scorer at half time...
Re: It's Official, Bronny James is a Bonafide Scrub
Does he really have some passion in playing the sport? Doesn't seem so imo.
Not sure if he'd even be relevant if not for his future hof father...
