I would bet money that at most one poster in this thread watched the WNBA just last year. You see your hero get hit (not even hurt, just hit) and you lose your mind setting some kind of conspiracy. You think no one in the WNBA was getting fouled before?

She is getting cheap shotted a lot from the clips I cant avoid but having seen, even though I dont watch the WNBA myself. Even guys like Barkley and Stephen A have referenced it in the media as being a result of pettiness.

Of course, some in this thread wont argue common sense, they'll argue against specific posters. If Chewing and tpols and co. see it one way, you can bet your bottom dollar other posters will be mindlessly reactionary and argue the opposite. Just to dig into the 'side' theyre on and I guess show people that theyre on what they think is the 'good guys' side or whatever.

It's like having an argument with Xiao about Toody, or RMWG about the Celtics. Or RMWG about... this issue. Youre not getting an honest discussion. Youre appealing to someone desperate to believe a narrative that their identity is deeply attached to. Youre trying to fight emotions with words and it's just not something that can be done.

She is the so called savior of the WNBA and other players are jealous about it, doesn't help that women tend to be more jealous than Men. It could be a race thing too.

it's envy, nothing to do with race. no other wnba rookie is receiving that type of hype and attention from the media/fans. no different than any other workplace environment, people in general become jealous of someone they see less deserving receive all the attention and praise in the world. she's new to the league, hasn't put in time like the rest of the league players but is garnering all sorts of appeal.

So O did some research: through 11 games Clark has been fouled 46 times, a little over 4 fouls per game, assuming she hadn't missed any. Having been hit 262 times James was fouled a little over 3 times per game. So Clark has so far taken something less than 1 foul per game than rookie James. Which means that instead of "pretty low" her number would just be "low."

The reaction has been entirely emotional and not at all based on thought by people that have actually watched the WNBA.
